Game: Akron vs. Buffalo (8:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Game Total UNDER 122.5 -110 (risk 3 to win 2.7)
Aside from an OT game with Toledo, the Zips have been very methodical, and defensive to reach this game vs Buffalo, and late in the season as well. The Zips have allowed just 55.3ppg in their last 7 MAC contests. Buffalo has seen 8 of their last 11 non OT games finish with at least 1 team in the 50s. The bigger the game, the bigger the defensive effort by the zips, who have played 5-0 to the under in their last 5 vs .600+ teams. A lot on the line here, and defense prevails once again, and I like this one to go under the total.

These teams don't play lined games until we get to their conference championship game, and that puts pressure on the oddsmakers to provide a good line. They missed on this one as the pressure has mounted on these teams - the results have been less scoring. Alabama State is a good defensive team, not allowing 11 of their last 16 opponents above 60. Jackson State has turned up the defensive intensity as well, as their two opponents to get here, have averaged just 59 ppg against them. Loser-goes-home games tend to play tight and slow, so this one goes UNDER the total.
Game: Pacific vs. C S Northridge (11:55 PM Eastern)Pick: 4 units on Game Total UNDER 130.5 -110 (risk 4 to win 3.6)
Pacific has been a traditionally strong team in the Big West, and those teams have always had a signature defense. This year’s team is no exception. Their last nine games have seen seven opponents fail to top the 60-point mark and consequently, it has led to eight of the nine failing to reach the total. The last game between these teams saw a similar end as they combined for just 117 points. Pacific is also now 24-8 to the UNDER as a small favorite of up to five, while CS Northridge is now 7-1 in their last eight against teams .500 or better. The series concludes that the UNDER is the play here as nine of the last 11 have slipped under the total, which is the call for this one.
