Today's NCAA Basketball Picks:

Game: Southern Mississippi vs. Central Florida (3:30 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Central Florida -3 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7)

The Golden Knights didn't close the season in conference play the way they would have liked, but have been an over-achieving team playing above the line. They closed the Conference USA slate with an impressive 11-5 ATS mark and in all games finished 8-4 ATS as a favorite. Southern Miss closed the season in even more dismal fashion as they were able to muster just one win in their last 11 games. Their season away from home left them with similar results, with just 1 win in 11 tries. The Golden Eagles have also been bankrupting their backers with a 2-12 ATS mark in their last 14 games. This team has lost its confidence and I'll go with Central Florida here as a short favorite.
Game: Southern Mississippi vs. Central Florida (3:35 PM Eastern)
Pick: 4 units on Central Florida -160 (moneyline) (risk 4 to win 2.5)
I gave a multitude of reasons why I liked Central Florida in my game write-up and I also like them on the moneyline for a lot of the same reasons. Southern Miss is a mess right now and closed the season 1-10 SU. They have won one all season long away from home and that win was nearly two months ago. Central Florida on the moneyline as well.
Game: Iowa State vs. Oklahoma State (7:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 4 units on Iowa State +10.5 (-110) (risk 4 to win 3.6)
The Iowa St. Cyclones did not win a game on the road in the Big-12 all season long. The fact is in their last seven they didn't come within ten of anyone. We saw the difference yesterday in the Big East Championship games where a DePaul team that went 0-18 in the regular season wins by ten. These are not the same as road games, but often treated as such where the fans often get behind the underdog and it becomes a lot more arena friendly for the dog. The Cowboys struggled in the middle of the season, but finished strong until a last game loss to Oklahoma. Despite of their late season success it is not a team designed for big wins as in their last 15 games they show just two wins by more than ten points. Too many points here and I'm riding with Iowa St.
Game: Mount St Mary's at Robert Morris (8:30 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Robert Morris -4 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7)
Robert Morris accumulated a lot of losses early in the season as they packed it full of high profile teams and it certainly paid off come conference time. They had a losing record as the calender turned the New Year, but since have been 17-3. One of the losses was to Pittsburgh and the other two occurred in consecutive games, otherwise, the Colonilas have been perfect. Mt. St. Mary's put together a nice seven game winning streak in conference play, but the before and after haven't been nearly as good. It is surrounded by an 11-12 mark that includes dropping two of three in their last three games. The Colonilas proved they were the more consistent team all season and the better team as well as they beat St. Mary's home and away in the regular season. One more time. Robert Morris gets the call.
Game: Stanford vs. Oregon State (9:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Game Total OVER 127 -110 (risk 3 to win 2.7)
Oregon St. had lost 23 straight conference games until their win vs USC on January 4th of this year. They went on to win seven others and are a much improved team from a year ago. They aren't quite as methodical offensively as in past years and against Stanford scored more points in the two games than they did vs any other team in the Pac-10, in fact their 71.5 ppg average against the Cardinal represents more points than they scored in any single game against any other conference foe. Stanford really stepped it up offensively closing the season with four straight games in the 70s or better, with all four going over the total. Beavers solved the Cardinal defense and Cards are scoring with four straight overs. I'm riding the OVER in this one.
