Wunderdog $2,000 March Madness Bracket Contest Exclusive 100% Bonus at BetPhoenix! ![]() Today's NCAA Basketball Picks: The Georgetown Hoyas slipped during the middle part of the season, and it has left them at 16-13. They are still alive in many bracketologist’s eyes for an at-large tourney bid based on the fact they have big wins and the No. 1 most difficult schedule in the country. I would expect them to come out here with their "A" game for this one. St. John's was not a good team at the beginning of the season, and with the injuries they have sustained, they certainly aren't any better now. They surprised Georgetown here late in the season, and it was because Georgetown was a no-show off the glass getting out-rebounded by an amazing 20 boards. They outplayed them in every other aspect of the game. I look for a turnaround in this one as the Hoyas win, cover, and advance.Game: Rutgers at Notre Dame (7:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Game Total UNDER 137.5 -110 (risk 3 to win 2.7) Notre Dame has shown some offense in spurts this season but for Rutgers, there just isn't any firepower on the floor and they like a slow-paced game. The Scarlet Knights have scored in the 40s in four Big East games this season and in the 50s in four others. The Irish have scored 74 or less in 13 of their 18 Big East games. The odds are that they will have to do better than that to push this one over, but they won't have a willing partner in Rutgers. Rutgers has played 11 of their last 12 Big East tilts to the UNDER, while Notre Dame is 5-0 as a neutral-site favorite to the UNDER, which is my call here.Game: South Alabama vs. Western Kentucky (10:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Western Kentucky -4 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7) Here we go again with the Hilltoppers. They lost most of their NCAA Tourney team from a year ago, and were supposed to be in a rebuilding year. Twenty-one wins later, they are back in the Sun Belt Championship game looking down the barrel at another bid. This is a team that has steadily gotten better as the influx of talent is maturing, and W. Kentucky finished the season 14-2, after a 7-6 start. The Jaguars were supposed to be here, but not against W. Kentucky and now face a team that has already beaten them twice this season. The Jags have not finished strong, going just 4-10 ATS in their last 14, and are now just 5-14 ATS against teams with winning records. Contrast that with the Hilltoppers who are now 23-9-1 ATS against teams with a winning record, and have run their string at neutral sites to 7-0 ATS in their last seven appearances as a favorite. I have to back the Hilltoppers here. Results: 2-1 ![]() NCAA Basketball Picks Resources:
