Today's NCAA Basketball Picks:

Game: Florida A & M vs. Bethune Cookman (6:30 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Game Total UNDER 122 -110 (risk 3 to win 2.7)

Bethune Cookman is barely over .500, and Florida A & M well below. Regardless of the outcome here the winner is playing in the play-in game come tournament time. Bethune Cookman, for those that don't know, plays games that resemble the Ivy League’s Princeton. Many games struggle to get out of the 50s, or for that matter even get to 50. Bethune Cookman has averaged 50.6 points per game in their last eight, and they are the better team here. That means the likely scenario is that Bethune carries the tempo of this game, and a likely finish in the 50s. I'll go with the UNDER here.
Game: Montana vs. Northern Colorado (6:35 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Game Total UNDER 132.5 -110 (risk 3 to win 2.7)
The Northern Colorado Bears have put together their best season ever at 24-6. The defense has carried the mail, with nine of their last 10 opponents failing to top the 68-point mark. Montana reached the 20-win plateau to get here, and in the process has held 24 opponents in the 60s or lower as well as a dozen in the 50s or lower. These teams played a hard fought game that ended in the low 60s, so I certainly would expect another tight and low-scoring affair here. Northern Colorado has played eight of their last 10 as a dog to the UNDER and Montana, five of their last six vs. .600+ teams to the UNDER. The last four in this series were defensive struggles that all went UNDER, so I like this one to stay UNDER the total as well.
Game: Duquense at St. Bonaventure (7:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Duquense +1.5 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7)
Duquense has coverd the spread eight out of the last ten times they have met in this location. I like them to do it again. The Bonnies are just 4-7 ATS this season at home and their defense has really struggled of late. I think Duqense's offense which is really humming, can outscore the Bonnies here. St. Bonaventure is 1-9 ATS the past two seasons at home vs. teams that allow 42% or less from the field (Duqense allows just 41.3%). Duquense has covered 20 of their last 27 after a home win, scoring 85 or more. As a home favorite the past three seasons, the Bonnies are just 2-10 ATS. They are also 1-7 ATS this season after a road loss. I like the road team here.
Game: George Washington at Dayton (7:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Dayton -11.5 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7)

Karl Hobbs had some things going at George Washington, but he has had a tough battle recruiting, especially with Georgetown reclaiming top billing in DC. The Colonels finished up at 5-10 in their last 15, and won only at lowly Fordham on the road in their last seven on the highway. One thing about the Flyers is that when they win, they win going away and big. Their last 12 wins have seen 11 come by 13 or more points, so it stands to reason that if you think that the Flyers win this one, it will be by plenty enough to cover the double-digit number. I'm in that camp, so Dayton gets the call.

Game: North Texas vs. Troy (7:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Game Total UNDER 139 -110 (risk 3 to win 2.7)

The North Texas Mean Green has won 10 games in a row. The 10 wins include nine against conference foes, where the Mean Green defense has been down right mean. North Texas is allowing just 61.6 points per game in the winning stretch. Troy has suffocated opponents on the defensive end in their last three games allowing just 53.3 ppg, despite horrible second halves in both tournament games where they scored just a total of 45 points. Both defenses are carrying these teams, and I don't see this one getting out of the low 60s leaving plenty of room and value on the UNDER here. These teams have only gone over the total once in their last six games. Nothing different here either, under gets the call.

Game: Portland State vs. Weber State (9:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Portland State +8 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7)
There is a good battle looming here as these teams have not seen much separation in terms of attacking each other. They met twice during the regular season each winning on their home court, but by very small margins as they were 3 and 5-point games. That makes the lofty number here very inviting on a competent Vikings team that certainly will respect Weber State, but not fear them. The Vikings lost to Montana State twice during the season and mustered the energy to beat them, to get to this game. The Wildcats haven't been very receptive to the neutral court where they are 2-8 ATS in their last 10. I'll go Portland State here.
Game: Rutgers vs. Cincinnati (9:30 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Rutgers +8 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7)
This game features teams heading in opposite directions as the Cincinnati Bearcats once considered a possible NCAA Tournament team, has dropped to 16-14. Rutgers dropped nine in a row, but has since come on finishing up at 6-5, so a much improved team. Back when they were playing poorly, they lost to this Cincinnati team by just 7, and I think they have bridged the gap between these teams. The Bearcats are not wearing the favorite label well as they are just 15-36-1 ATS in their last 52 as chalk and overall, are just 6-20 ATS in their last 26 Big East games. Rutgers at least stays close here, so they get the call.

Results: 4-3
