Basketball Gambling Ncaa Pick - March 07, 2009We had a perfect night on the CBB hardwood last night going 3-0 for+10 units. Over the past two months we are 90-70 good for +16.9 units. Today we have seven premium picks, including four 4-unit selections. ![]() Today's NCAA Basketball Picks: Georgia St. has really come on strong late in the season. They posted just five wins against div-1 teams all year, but suddenly have won five of their last six. They have been a very methodical team taking care of the ball running the shot clock deep and it has resulted in them scoring in the 50s or less 15 times. VCU is no doubt the more talented team here and has an advantage almost everywhere on the court. The Panthers will have to be deliberate and that means clock chewing possessions. These teams played exactly that way in their two regular season meetings, putting up combined points of 110 and 115 in those games. This one looks like more of the same and the UNDER gets the call.Game: Seton Hall at Cincinnati (12:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 4 units on Seton Hall +6.5 (-110) (risk 4 to win 3.6) The Cincinnati Bearcats have gotten more credit than they deserve in the Big East. While they put together a nice record and many think they are a bubble team, I do not. They have beaten just one good team and that was W. Virginia, and the way they are finishing the season doesn't merit consideration in my eyes. They are just 1-4 in their last five games and have been beaten soundly in all four losses, including at S. Florida. Seton Hall isn't posting a lot of wins, but they have been a sleeper in the Big East and playing well over the line, as the Hall is 11-4 ATS in their last 15. They have played well on the road, cashing in on six of their last seven road games and I'll back them here against a Bearcat team that isn't as good as advertised.Game: St. Joeseph's at Fordham (1:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 2 units on St. Joeseph's -12.5 (-110) (risk 2 to win 1.8) This has been a humiliating and humbling year for the Fordham Rams. The wins are only three and they are against Lafayette, New Hampshire and St. Bonaventure. They aren't just losing, they are losing by huge margins as 19 of their setbacks have been by double-digits. That includes 13 of 15 Atlantic ten games. They have lost their conference home games by a stunning average of 21.7ppg. Not much else I have to say here, the value is painted all over St. Joesph's in this one and I'll lay the points on the road and back the Hawks.Game: Texas Tech at Iowa State (1:45 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Game Total UNDER 142.5 -110 (risk 3 to win 2.7) I'm not sure where this big total came from as it certainly doesn't fit what this Iowa St. team does. The Cyclones have played in just four games all season that have produced more than the total listed here. Texas Tech has been miserable on the road all season and have taken the goose-egg, dropping all ten of their games. While they have played many over games, those numbers are getting more difficult to topple and their last two have gone under. Home team is usually the pace dictator and Iowa St. has played seven of their last nine as a favorite to the under, and this one will make it eight out of ten. UNDER is the play here.Game: Oregon at U C L A (3:30 PM Eastern) Pick: 4 units on Oregon +20.5 (-110) (risk 4 to win 3.6) The Oregon Ducks after several years of success have had a tough go this season as they stand at 8-21 on the season. The good news is that two of those wins have come in their last three games. The Bruins are off of three straight games and really don't have anything to gain by beating up on the Ducks and would expect their "A" game to be absent in this one. The one weak spot this Bruin team has shown is just that, a relaxed attitude especially after blowing someone out. The Bruins after a 20+ point win have been just 3-9 ATS in their next game and the Ducks playing better, but still won't get their attention. Oregon stays inside the huge number here.Game: Duquense at Dayton (8:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 4 units on Duquense +6 (-110) (risk 4 to win 3.6) The Dayton Flyers had a big measuring stick game against Xavier last time out, and failed miserably as they went down soundly by 16 points. They spent a lot of emotional energy in that one and it will be tough for them to get it going in this one. Duquense is a good pesky team and you have to remember they were good enough to beat Xavier a few weeks back. It is the type of game they have fared the best in recently as testified by their five of seven run when posted as a dog. Flyers feeling the heat as a favorite and haven't been able to deliver as they are just 3-9 ATS in their last 12 as a favorite. This one may add to that futility as they are off their biggest game of the year and I'm going with Duquense here, who could even surprise and win.Game: New Mexico State at Hawaii (11:55 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on New Mexico State +1.5 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7) Hawaii built a lot of wins into their record early by beating up on some programs that are really down this season. It is reflected in their recent play which has seen them go just 4-10 in their last 14. The Aggies started slow with a young team, but have improved considerably and have closed out the season with six wins in their last nine games, after a 9-11 start. These teams are obviously heading in opposite directions and the Aggies posted a nice double-digit win at home against the Warriors. Warriors displaying further futility at home vs teams with a .400 or less road winning percentage, as they are just 16-38-1 against them. No travel woes here, the Aggies get the call. Results: 4-3 ![]() NCAA Basketball Picks Resources:
