March Madness Pick - January 31, 2012

We finished 4-2 last night across all sports for +$260 for our $100 per-unit players.

Today's NCAA Basketball Picks:

Game: Youngstown State at Wisconsin, Milwaukee (8:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 2 units on Game Total OVER 127 -110 (risk 2 to win 1.8)

The Wisconsin Milwaukee Panthers led the nation early on defense, and through seven games they had allowed just 53.1 points per game. There has been a huge difference as over their last 16 they have allowed 13 opponents over that average including five of the 16 at 70+. One of those teams was Youngstown State who managed 68 against them in the first meeting in a win, so they certainly won't back down here. Youngstown State has gone onto an 11-1 mark to the OVER after scoring 50 or less in their last game and 14-3 on the road to the OVER in their last 17. The Panthers have now played to an 8-1 mark to the OVER in their last nine vs. a team with a road winning percentage of less than .400. Play the OVER.

The Texas Tech Red Raiders had a few good years under Bobby Knight, but this program has long struggled in a Big-12 schedule. They have a 7-13 record on the season, and although they are 6-4 at home, all four losses have come in their four home conference games. Oklahoma State hasn't found the sledding much easier, but is one game away from the coveted .500 mark and faces an opponent tonight that they can beat. The Cowboys are one of the best when facing an anticipated competitive game, as they are 34-15-2 ATS in their last 51 as a favorite of -6.5 or more. While the margin for error may be less this season, there is a better than the odds indicate chance for them to get the straight-up win here. Play Oklahoma State on the moneyline.
