Ncaa March Madness Brackets - January 28, 2008
We scored our 24th winning night out of the last 33 with a 4-3 day yesterday for +1.9 units. A potential 5-2 day was spoiled by overtime in the Georgia Tech - Virginia game (UNDER was there in regulation).

Today's NCAA Basketball Picks:
Game: Elon at Appalachian State (7:30 PM Eastern)
Pick: 2 units on Appalachian State -13 (-110) (risk 2 to win 1.8)
The Phoenix risen from obscurity with a 15-win season in 05-06. But the "before" and "after" have not been so great. This season they own six wins vs. teams that are a woeful 33-83 combined. The problem is that six of their last seven road games have been by double-digits. They went to Appalachian State last year and pulled a major upset, so they are going to be playing against an inspired Mountaineer team tonight. The Mountaineers are putting it all together now, having won nine of their last 11. They shoot it at 48% and convert nearly 40% of their thjree pointers. Elon is allowing 45% against them, and there will be lots of opportunities for the Mountaineers to score. This looks like another big double-digit loss for the Phoenix.
Game: Boise State at Fresno State (10:00 PM Eastern)Pick: 3 units on Fresno State +1 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7)
Fresno State has not shown much on the road this season where they are 2-8. But they have played tough at home where they have been 8-2. They have also thrived at home vs teams with good road records, as they have covered five of their last six vs teams that carry a road mark of .600+. Boise State has had some difficulties winning at Fresno State. They have only won once here in the last five years. Boise State leads the nation in FG shooting at 52%, but for a team shooting so well from the floor they don't defend very well, and only connect on 67% of their free throws. We look for Fresno State to make it four straight at home vs the Broncos.
