Ncaa Predictions - January 20, 2008
We suffered a losing night last night at 4-4. Today we like two games...
Today's NCAA Basketball Picks:
Game: Temple at Saint Louis (2:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Game Total OVER 118 -110 (risk 3 to win 2.7)
Both of these teams are coming off upsets. Temple beat 20th ranked Xavier by 19 points on Wednesday while the Bilikens took care of #23 Rhode Island on Thursday. The Owls are getting 70.4 ppg behind Dionte Christmas and Mark Tyndale. THe two combine for over 36 points per game and 12.8 rebounds per game. These two will get their points, even against this great St. Louis defense. And, Temple's defense is just average, so expect St. Louis to have a decent amount of offensive sucess as well. While they really struggle to put up points on the road, at home they are not awful. We look for the OVER here.
Game: Michigan State at Minnesota (4:00 PM Eastern)Pick: 3 units on Michigan State -1 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7)
The only blemishes on the Spartan schedule are to UCLA on the road and just one of those throw away and forget about games at Iowa. This team shoots 48% and defends at 38% and has two legit point guards, both with 70+ assists. Minnesota has a nice looking record, but the season has been loaded with cupcakes. They lack a single quality win thus far. They have had four games vs good opponents and have dropped them all. The Spartans are 22-12 ATS vs. winning teams the past two seasons while the Gophers are 0-6 ATS vs. teams at 80%+ after 15 games over the past three seasons. Michigan State won the first one between these two teams 65-59 earlier this month and Minnesota is a perfect 0-7 ATS at home revenging a loss the past two seasons. Spartans here.
Results: 1-1
