Today's NCAA Basketball Picks:
Game: Siena at Niagara (7:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Game Total UNDER 156.5 -110 (risk 3 to win 2.7)
Niagara is coming off a 96 point performance while Siena is off a 52-point game. What gives here? We like this game to come in UNDER the lofty total. Niagara has the propensity to be an up-and-down team. Six times already this season they have shot in the 30% range from the floor. Overall they are 7-4 UNDER while Siena is 8-4 UNDER. Both teams are 4-1 UNDER their last five games. Siena is allowing just 61.5 ppg to conference foes. We like this one to come in under this high posted total.
Game: St. Peters at Marist (7:30 PM Eastern)Pick: 4 units on Marist (-725) (risk 4 to win 0.6)
Marist hasn't lost at home yet this year and it won't happen tonight against the Peacocks who are 0-8 on the road. St. Peters has only won 5 out 22 games the past two seasons. Meanwhile, the Red Foxes are 24-6 straight-up as a favorite over that same span.
Game: Rider at Iona (7:30 PM Eastern)Pick: 3 units on Rider -2 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7)
The good news for Iona is they have already more than doubled their win total from last season. But with that said they are still just 5-11, and have dropped four straight. The problem is still no go-to scorer. Their bench is getting minutes, but no one off the bench is shooting over 40%, so they are subject to offensive droughts. They are also plagued by sloppy play, and lack of ball movement. They are one of just a few teams in NCAA basketball with their top nine players all have negative assist to turnover margins! They have commited 308 turnovers to just 206 assists. That's not going to get it done vs a good Rider team that shoots over 47% and allows just 40. We look for Jason Thompson (20.2 ppg, 11.3 rpg) to have a big game. Their is a big difference in talent here, and Rider was one of just two victims of Iona last year. Expect them to return the favor tonight.
