Don't look now but William & Mary is 10-4. They have opened CAA play with a 3-1 record for just the 4th time in 22 years. VCU has gotten out strong as well standing perfect in the league and 12-3 overall. This game is going to be played in the half-court as both of these teams are better on that end than they are on the offensive end. We would tend to believe if the jersey didn't say William & Mary on it this line would be different. This game should be low scoring, and hard fought and close down to the wire, so we will gladly take the 6 points.

Duke has opened with an ACC loss for the 1st time in quite sometime. This believe it or not, will be the first true road game for Duke. Georgia Tech has been perfect at home going 9-0, and is shooting over 50% as a team, and almost knocked off undefeated Clemson on the road losing by 1. These are two young teams, and Tech has the firepower, and Duke just doesn't have that this season, they have depended on defense. It is unlikely they will be the same team on the road for the first time, especially with some young inexperienced players.

Not sure anyone would believe that Indiana St. at 10-4 has a better record than Wichita St. 10-5, but they do. Wichita St. has really been struggling of late, and has dropped 5 of 6. Indiana St. has to be the surprise team in the MVC as they have now won 5 in a row, and are perfect at home 8-0. Defense is their calling card, and anytime you can get points at home where you have been perfect against a struggling team you have to take them.

UCONN is a young team trying to grow up, and Marquette is a young team that, like UCONN has not fared well on the road. UCONN has been flawless at home not only this year, but have won 31 straight here. Marquette has started 0-2 in conference and both losses by double digits. They are lacking that key ingredient, a star go to type player that Novak was last year. The Huskies are simply a different team at home, and Marquette, even last year with a more experienced team suffered on the road. Look for the Huskies to rebound their way into a convincing win.

LaSalle has fallen on hard times, and have not won a basketball game since December 20th, losing 6 straight. Duquense has been a miracle, with all the happenings around this team they are starting to gel, and have won 3 of 4. The most impressive was a 10 point win at STL done without their top scorer. This is a team that shares the ball and they have any of 6 players capable of scoring in double figures on any given night. The way LaSalle is struggling right now, and the way that Duquense is surging, we will gladly lay the 2 and go with the home team.

Pitt will bring the #7 ranked team in the country to DePaul tonight, as DePaul will try to slowdown the Panthers. This is a different Pitt team than we have seen in the past. Pitt is usually a very physical strong-willed defensively assertive type team. This team is more of a finesse type team, that is more reliant on offense than defense. What has gotten it done for the Panthers is 50%FG shooting and over 40% on 3's. This DePaul team has not lost at home, and holds opponents to 40% shooting. They won at Villonova by holding the Wildcats to 38% shooting. we look for them to ride the emotion of the home crowd, and limit what Pitt does best, and that's hitting 3's and shooting a high percentage.

There are not too many places in the country that are harder to get a win at than BYU. The last 9 years including this one, BYU has had 7 winning seasons. They have compiled a 94-5 home record during those 7 winning seasons. What is even more remarkable is that they have won 71 of the 94 by double digits or 76% of them! They have now won 24 straight here, and are 10-0 here this year. TCU won just 2 games in conference last year and were swept by BYU. This is an improved TCU team, but this is an impossible place to play, especially when BYU has a winning team which they do. San Diego St is a good team, and they left here with a 22 point loss, expect the same tonight.
