College Tournament Basketball Picks - January 09, 2009
We nailed our 5-unit pick yesterday on Samford getting the cover. Over the last three nights we are up +9.1 units and go with one pick today...
Today's NCAA Basketball Picks:
Game: Rider at Siena (7:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Rider +11.5 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7)
The Saints have everyone back from a year ago, but unlike last year, they aren't sneaking up on anyone. Last season they stunned Stanford and beat a good Villanova team in the NCAA Tournament. They upgraded their schedule, but in the five games against Pitt, Kansas, Oklahoma State, Wichita State, and Tennessee - they lost them all. They have had many narrow wins over teams a bit less competent than Rider. The Broncos have brought back four starters of their own from a team that went on the road vs. Siena last year and won. The only two double-digit losses have come by 12 and 17 points and they are certainly capable of hanging around in this one and I'll back Rider here.
