Free Basketball Pick - January 02, 2009We got the 3-0 sweep yesterday to grab +8.2 units. We are now 6-1 (86%) for +12.4 units since New Year's Eve. Today we keep it going with two more premium college hoops picks. ![]() Today's NCAA Basketball Picks: The Broncos are in a tough spot here as they are off of back-to-back games Monday and Tuesday and after the Holiday, they must make the cross-country trip to face the Harvard Crimson. The Broncos have big man John Bryant in the middle, but will be swallowed up by the Crimson zone and a lack of fire-power on the perimeter will make the going tough. Harvard has sharp-shooter Jeremy Lin (47%) from three-point range to keep the Crimson in it as well as the return of second-leading scorer Keith Wright, and four players connecting on 38% or more from beyond the arc. That says the Crimson could win this one outright, so I'll back them with the points here. Game: Syracuse at South Florida (8:30 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Syracuse -7 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7) You can bet that Syracuse has gotten an earful reminding them of their disastrous performance in South Florida last year that resulted in an 11-point upset loss. The ‘Cuse is battle tested with wins on the road at Memphis, and neutral-court victories over Kansas and Florida. Syracuse is scoring in bunches and will be hard to keep up with, as the Bulls have already shot 37.5% or less five times. The Bulls are costing themselves several points a game with abysmal 57.7% from the charity stripe. Outside of Vedejo and Jones, the next three top scorers are misfiring from the field at under 35% each. The ‘Cuse gets the call here. Results: 1-1 ![]() NCAA Basketball Picks Resources:
