Basketball Free Gambling Ncaa Pick - February 28, 2010We suffered a setback last night in college hoops as we finished 2-4-1. We put that in the rearview and move on today with another four premium CBB picks. Our college hoops picks are riding a 175-155 run over the last three months for +24 units.
 Today's NCAA Basketball Picks: The Wildcats are just 4-6 straight-up on the road, but they cover the number, having gone 8-2 ATS this season. Meanwhile, Penn State is just 3-9 ATS at home and they are really struggling to score since conference play began. The Nittany Lions are averaging just 61.1 points per game in Big 10 play. Northwestern held Iowa to just 57 points in a 17-point win last game and the Cats are 7-1 ATS this season when coming off a great defensive performance (held opponent to 60 or less). I like Northwestern here.Game: Cal Riverside at Cal Davis (4:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Cal Riverside +2 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7) Look out now but Cal Riverside is winning! They have won three straight and four of five including a big 9-point win last game as an 11-point underdog. That kind of win inspires confidence and I think they come into this one brimming. They face a Cal Davis team that has dropped three of their last four, so we have teams going in completely opposite directions here. To top it off, we have revenge playing a role here as Davis beat Riverside by 10 points when they met in January. Head coach Jim Woolridge is 21-9 ATS on the road revenging a double-digit loss.Game: Marist at Siena (4:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Marist +27 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7) Marist has won one game out of 28 this season. That kind of performance keeps bettors away like the plague. Late in the season, it provides those of us willing to back them some value. Marist is 0-15 on the road this season but they own a stellar 7-3 ATS mark in those games as the line gets over-shaded. This team is 9-1 ATS the past three seasons on the road after a 10+ point conference loss. Siena is just 7-16 ATS since last season after a game in which they scored 80+ points. How motivated can Siena be here? Only one way to go on this one and that's with the horrible team.Game: Weber State at Portland State (4:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Weber State -1.5 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7) Weber State is a .500 team on the road, which isn't bad, but they are 8-5 ATS in those games. They have found offense lately, scoring 81 points per game in their last five (more than the 78 per game that Portland State has averaged over the same span). Weber has the better defense by nearly 10 ppg and that should be the difference here. In conference games, Weber State is 13-2 SU while Portland State is just 6-9. Against the 15 common opponents this season, both of these teams have averaged 80 ppg. The difference is on defense as Weber has allowed 70 per game compared to 77 for Portland State. When facing teams at .400 or worse the last two seasons, Weber State is 9-2 ATS. Over that same span in close games (line of +3 to -3), they are 10-1 ATS and as a favorite this season, they are 11-4 ATS. Take the better team laying less than a basket here.
