Ncaa Basketball Tournament Predictions - February 26, 2010We split our picks in college hoops yesterday for a small gain. We look to add to that this evening and boost our three month record of 172-149 for +35.6 units with three premium picks.
![]() Today's NCAA Basketball Picks: Put these two teams in a moneyline parlay. In the Ivy, Cornell hosts Princeton. Cornell has only lost one game here all season and that was way back in the third game of the season vs. Seton Hall. Since then, they have reeled off nine straight home victories, holding teams to just 56.1 points per game. Their average margin of victory? 22 points per game. Over the last three seasons, Princeton is just 8-24 when coming off a loss. Cornell 9-2 the past three seasons when coming off an 80+ point performance. They are also 10-1 following a win this year. Niagara visits Manhattan, a team with a losing home record. This is a good matchup for Niagara. Manhattan does not beat you from the outside. They average just four 3-point baskets per game on 14 attempts per game. The Purple Eagles are 10-1 in their last eleven games vs. teams that shoot under 15 per game. Dating back to last season, they are 7-1 in games with a total set in the 130s. This season, Manhattan is just 1-7 straight-up following a game in which they covered the spread. Play these two together in a moneyline parlay.Game: Weber State at E. Washington (10:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 2 units on E. Washington +6 (-110) (risk 2 to win 1.8) Weber State is 18-8 while E. Washington is just 8-20. Big mismatch, right? Well, let's not forget where this game is being played. On the road Weber is just 6-7 while at home, E. Washington is 6-5. So this game takes on a different flavor once we look at it that way. At home, the Eagles average 77.7 points per game, three per game higher than Weber averages on the road. And, each team allows 76 per game. Don't get me wrong - the Wildcats are the better team, but it may not be a blowout here. The Eagles have found a way to close out the season strong under head coach Kirk Earlywine, going 13-4 ATS in February games during his tenure. I like the home team and the points here.Game: Idaho St. at Portland St. (10:05 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Idaho St. +9.5 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7) The Idaho St. Bengals have had a trying season at just 7-20 and have won just once on the road. However, a 1-10 start vs div-1 teams has become a 5-10 stretch over their last 15. They have been a lot more competitive with three of the losses coming by three points or less. One of those wins came at home vs this same Portland St. team. The Vikings have taken a turn in the opposite direction. They went on a 9-8 stretch only to drop five straight coming into this one and have only managed to cover two of their last seven on their home court. The Bengals have covered four of their last five after an ATS loss and will play with confidence here after beating the Vikings earlier. This one is closer than it looks. I'll go with Idaho St. here. Results: 1-2 ![]() NCAA Basketball Picks Resources:
