Ncaa Basketball Picks - February 26, 2008
1-1 yesterday, but we hit our 4 unit game to finish the night +1.6 units. Two picks tonight including another 4-unit.
Today's NCAA Basketball Picks:
Game: Connecticut at Rutgers (7:30 PM Eastern)
Pick: 2 units on Rutgers +10.5 (-110) (risk 2 to win 1.8)
The Huskies had a 10-game winning streak end at Villonova on Saturday. Even during the streak, the margin for error for this team was very slim. They went through eight games winning by 5, 1, 6, 2, 7, 2, 5 and 1 point. Since January 3rd this team has not won on the road by more than 5 points. Rutgers is in a rebuilding year, but they have long been known to be a hostile host regardless of their team. Their last five at home have all been tight games, as they dropped two in OT, beat Villonova by 12, lost to Notre Dame by 3 and St. John's by 7. This game has all the makings to be closer than expected, and we look for the Scarlet Knights to stay close. In fact, we would not be completely surprised if they shock the Huskies here.
Game: Drake at Missouri State (8:00 PM Eastern)Pick: 4 units on Missouri State +1 (-110) (risk 4 to win 3.6)
Drake is coming off what has to be their biggest win of the year going to #9 Butler and coming away with an impressive win. It would be hard to imagine we see their "A" game in this one, but we certainly expect to see the Bears bring theirs. Missouri State already has turned in five double-digit wins at home vs conference foes, while the Bulldogs have been escape artists on the road in conference play. They needed OT to get by Creighton, won by 1 at Bradley, and by 3 at Evansville and Illinois State, and lost at S. Illinois. That is six games with five decided by 1 possession! Coming off their biggest emotional win of the year, and having the MVC locked up, we look for a possible let down here for Drake. Meanwhile this is the game of the year for the Bears so we see the Bulldogs getting caught here.
Results: 1-1
