Ncaa Picks Free - February 25, 2010We came out on top last night, finishing 4-3 on the college hops floor. We are now 168-146 for +35 units over the last two and a half months. Today, we hit the floor with six premium CBB picks.
![]() Today's NCAA Basketball Picks: The Mountaineers are a team that can score, but they defend very well, so playing often to higher totals than what would be reasonable. That has led to five of their last six failing to reach the total, despite averaging over 77 points per game in the stretch. Chattanooga, at just 63 ppg in their last six on the road, is not going to contribute enough here to make the big total viable for an over. Despite the Mountaineers ability to score, they are very inconsistent and have played in the 50s or less five times already this season including their last time out. I think they need 85 here, something they have done just four times without OT or a non Div-1 opponent. I will go with the UNDER here.Game: Detroit at Cleveland State (7:30 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Detroit +6 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7) The Cleveland State Vikings were looking good, but then started to hit the wall and they have now lost three straight inside the conference. The Titans have suffered the same plight, dropping their last three in conference play. The Titans seem to be the team that rises to the occasion as they have posted an 8-3 ATS mark on the road, but more importantly, they are 6-2-1 ATS as a dog and have also been a good bounce-back team at 7-3 ATS after a loss. The Vikings are just 4-9 ATS in their last 13 at home and have failed to cover their last six after an ATS win, and stand winless ATS in their last five vs. a team with a winning record. I'll side with Detroit in this one.Game: Murray State at Morehead State (8:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Game Total UNDER 136 -110 (risk 3 to win 2.7) Game: Oregon State at U C L A (11:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 2 units on Oregon State +200 (moneyline) (risk 2 to win 4) The Pac-10 has fallen off a cliff this season, and it is likely only the conference champion will get an NCAA bid. The league is very balanced, but with a lot of mediocre teams - any of which can win on a given night. The UCLA Bruins certainly aren't immune to that possibility as they have dropped four Pac-10 games at Pauley already this season, three of them coming as a favorite. The Bruins have also won two games by a combined 3 points and have a -30 scoring margin in conference games this season. The Beavers at 11-4 ATS have pulled a couple of upsets on the road in Pac-10 play this season, and no team has proven to be more vulnerable than the Bruins. I'll go with Oregon State on the moneyline.Game: Santa Clara at Gonzaga (11:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Santa Clara +20 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7) What can be said about the Bulldogs? This was supposed to be the year they could be caught in the West Coast Conference, but they have risen above their roster losses, controlling their own destiny once again. They are not quite the team they have had in the past despite the record, and plowing through large numbers has not been their forte. They have been posted twice at 20+ in conference play, failing to deliver the cover in each one. Santa Clara gave them all they could handle on the road, before dropping a 7-point decision. And this team has relished in the role of a big dog as they are 6-0 ATS in their last six as a dog of 8 or more. Since conference play has begun they have suffered just one loss by more than 12 points. This one is too high, so I'll back Santa Clara.Game: Utah State at Hawaii (11:55 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Game Total UNDER 130 -110 (risk 3 to win 2.7) The Aggies bring a 12-game winning streak and NCAA Tournament aspirations. The reason they find themselves in this position is a huge effort on the defensive end. The Aggies have allowed just 58.6 points per game in their last 11, and held Hawaii to 54 in the first meeting. The Warriors have been no stranger to defense at home as they have allowed just 65.1 ppg in their last six in conference play. They have now played to a 35-17 UNDER mark in their last 52 at home, including 8-1 in their last nine vs. a team with a winning road record. I'll play this one UNDER the total. Results: 3-3 ![]() NCAA Basketball Picks Resources:
