Ncaa Final Four Predictions - February 24, 2009

We split our picks last night to give back less than a unit. As today is Mardi Gras, it is only fitting that we have play on the LSU vs. Florida game tonight...

Today's NCAA Basketball Picks:

Game: Florida at L S U (9:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on L S U -168 (moneyline) (risk 3 to win 1.8)

The Bayou Bengals have been almost impossible to take down at home this year, as they bring in an 18-1 mark. The lone setback came against a red-hot Xavier team that was in the midst of an 11-0 run. No SEC team has come to within seven points against LSU at home this season. Most teams have left getting pounded, as their 6-0 home mark over the SEC has been by an average of 13.2 points per game. The Gators are not quite the caliber we have seen from recent teams they have put on the floor, but overall still an excellent basketball team. Youth must be served however, and the Gators, at 3-5 have struggled on the road. They have dropped their last three on the SEC road and four of their last five, and this doesn't look like the place to get healthy. I'll back LSU on the moneyline here.
