Ncaa Basketball Tournament Predictions - February 23, 2010Last night we won with our lone college hoops pick. Today we hit the CBB floor with a trio of premium picks. We are 164-141 for +37 units over the last two and a half months - we look to add that tonight.
![]() Today's NCAA Basketball Picks: The Monarchs had a huge opportunity on Bracket Buster Saturday to add to the resume, but failed to get it done vs. Northern Iowa. It was their third road loss in their last four games, and the three losses have come by an average of 10 points per game. They now have to pick up the pieces and play on the road after an emotional road loss. I don't believe we will see the Monarchs’ "A" game in this one. Georgia State has won two straight games, is playing with more confidence and has not lost a home game by the margin set here in over five weeks. Georgia State has played well at home with a 9-4 mark, while the Monarchs are just 1-5 ATS vs. teams with a home winning percentage of .600+. This one will play a lot closer than the number here, so I'm backing Georgia State.Game: Creighton at Southern Illinois (8:05 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Southern Illinois -4.5 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7) These teams have had some battles over the years for conference supremacy, but not this year. Creighton has about the worst team they have had in over a decade, and have been brutal on the road at just 2-9 for the season. The Blue Jays’ last two on the road in conference play both ended in 18-point losses. The Salukis’ offense is really starting to gel as they shot nearly 62% last time out as well as connecting on 25-30 from the line. This is a team that reached 70 points just four times in their first 13 conference games, but overall they have scored 70+ in each of their last four. While the Saluki's appear to be improving, the Blue Jays’ road woes continue. I'll go with Southern Illinois here.Game: Tennessee at Florida (9:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Florida -140 (moneyline) (risk 3 to win 2.1) The Tennessee Volunteers really did not prepare well for life on the road in the SEC as they have had just eight road games in a season that has completed 26 games thus far. While really owning their home court, they are just 4-4 on the road. Those four wins include three in SEC play, but the three wins have been vs. Alabama, South Carolina and LSU. Those three teams combine to have an overall losing record, and the best of the three is just 14-12. It will be a different story in Florida tonight vs. the 19-8 Gators who will be seeking redemption for a tough 1-point loss at Tennessee earlier. The difference here is that the Gators have a well-balanced attack that shows five players scoring over 10 per game. Revenge is served, so I'm going with Florida here. Results: 1-2 ![]() NCAA Basketball Picks Resources:
