Today's NCAA Basketball Picks:

Game: Villanova at Pittsburgh (12:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 5 units on Villanova -2.5 (-110) (risk 5 to win 4.6)

Nova comes in here ranked No. 3 in the country. Despite losing six straight in this arena, the Wildcats are favored. I like them the get it done. The last time these teams met, Scottie Reynolds nailed "The Shot" - a buzzer-beater in last year's tournament that sent the top-seeded Panthers packing and Villanova to the Final Four. You might think Pittsburgh will be out for revenge here, and they will, but the fact is, there is only one starter back from last year's team and others gone too so it's not so vivid for these players. I believe the motivational edge actually goes to Nova here as they are looking to prove they can win here and they certainly don't want to suffer back-to-back losses. This team doesn't shrink on the road where they have amassed an 11-2 record. They have the offense to pierce Pitt's great defense. Under Jay Wright, this team is 55-36 ATS on the road including 11-3 ATS as a favorite of 3 points or less. Nova here.

The Big 10 has four teams in the Top 15 and two of them meet here. The matchup to watch here will be Kalin Lucas vs. Evant Turner. Both have dealt with injuries but when healthy, they are as good as it gets. Turner has averaged 19.5 points per game and 9.2 rebounds per game. Lucas isn't far behind at 15.7 points per game. In such a big game, I like the home court edge here. This place is going to be rocking and I think the Spartans take advantage of that, and the underdog role (disrespect) to play their top game. They are 13-1 at home. The Buckeyes have also been stellar at home (15-1), but on the road they have been downright average. They are just 5-6 on the season away from home (4-7 ATS), having been outscored in the process! Give me the home team here.
