Today's NCAA Basketball Picks:
Game: Pittsburgh at Connecticut (7:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Connecticut -160 (moneyline) (risk 3 to win 1.9)
A huge heavyweight battle between the Pitt Panthers and the UConn Huskies takes shape tonight in Connecticut. This game definitely has No. 1 seeding ramifications for the NCAA Tournament attached to it. The Huskies Hasheem Thabeet is getting better by the game, and is off a 25-point, 20-rebound performance against Seton Hall, both career highs. The big man is playing good and is now averaging 16 points, 14 rebounds and seven blocks in his last five games - dominating the interior. The Huskies are the only team in the country that have two players, in Adrien and Thabeet, averaging a double-double per game. Pitt may regret having played just one non-conference game on the road all season, because when they have gone on the road against the top teams in the Big East, at Villanova, and Louisville, they suffered their only two setbacks of the season. UConn gets it done at home here.
Game: Marist at St. Peter's (8:00 PM Eastern)Pick: 3 units on St. Peter's -2.5 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7)
The Peacocks are not playing proud in the win/loss column at 8-17, but they have been proudly fanning their tails to their pointspread backers as they have been one of the top teams in the country getting the money. Against the spread, St. Peter's is superb at 10-2 ATS in their last 12 games on the board. They have also won three of their last five, with the three wins coming on the road. The losses were to the top two teams in the conference - Siena and Niagara, so this is definately a team on the rise. The Red Foxes have been bad, doing a free-fall on the conference road at 0-5 on the season. They are now just 2-6 ATS in their last eight and overall, they have managed to put just one in the win column in their last 10. They have been even worse against teams with a .400 winning percentage or less, as they are 0-7 ATS. The Peacocks are playing up, the Red Foxes are playing down. St. Peter's gets the call here.
Results: 1-1

Number 22 Illinois squares off vs. Indiana on CBS in this early game. I like the road team to win big. The Illini have covered five of the last six games played against Indiana including a 76-45 drubb...

This one might better be deemed as the tortoise vs the hare. Richmond, in their last ten games has played to totals posted in the 130s or less nine times and none as high as this one, while Duquense h...
