darrell,
Not able to bet College Basketball totals? Some folks have indicated their sportsbook doesn't carry all of the college basketball totals. If you want one that does, check out BetCris. Their specialty is posting lines for every game. Also, if you sign up with them, email me (respond to this). If you open a new account, I can tell you how to get a 40% bonus on your initial deposit (Wunderdog special). We took a small step backward yesterday going 2-3. We're still on a 19-8 (70%) run over the past eight days in college baskets. Tonight we have a huge board to select from and love the card.

Game: Maryland at Nc State (7:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 4 units on Game Total UNDER 149.5 -110
Maryland is coming off a huge win for them and teams in that kind of a letdown situation, with a high total, have predominately played UNDER. Teams coming in off an upset win as a home dog have gone 67-26 to the under 72% in their next game! NC State has scored 65, 65, 58, and 56 in four of their last six games. Over the past two seasons, Maryland is 11-3 UNDER on the road vs. great shooting teams (48%+ FG). We will ride these trends and opt for the UNDER in this one.
Game: Temple at Lasalle (7:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Game Total UNDER 158.5 -110
Temple has run off ten straight overs. There comes a time to get off the gravy train and this is the spot. Not a single Temple total has been posted this high and the value is now officially on the UNDER with this team. The total when these teams met earlier at Temple, where Temple has even more control of the tempo, was set 8.5 points lower. LaSalle has not played to a total this high either and it is simply too high. They scored 153 at Temple, and that included Temple shooting a sizzling 52% from the floor and an unrealistic 53% from beyond the arc. LaSalle shot above their norm at 46% in that game too. It still fell six points short of this total and we expect this one to fall under the inflated total.
Game: Duquense at Richmond (7:30 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Game Total OVER 162 -110
We have been all over the Duquense OVER the past couple of games and they have not dissapointed - sailing over each time by double digits. The ultimate puzzling match-up presents itself here - frenzy ball vs. turtle ball. Which imposes its will over the other? Let's take a look at history to see if we can find the answer. Duquense games have averaged 195 ppg since the advent of frenzy ball. Richmond games on the season averages just 128 ppg. Split the difference and your left at 161.5 ppg which is right about on par with this total. But, it's not as easy as that. Since the advent of frenzy-ball seven games ago, Duquense has forced opponents to score much more than their average. Duqense games have averaged 44 points more per contenst than their oppenents' average combined scores over the first three of these such ball games. They have improved that to an average of +54 covering the last four games. Is to possible then that this game goes from a Richmond average of 128 to 182 (54 points more)? The answer is very likely yes! Recently VMI, a team that averaged 100 ppg on their own, played Richmond in another frenzied pace game and the result was 177 points scored! So Richmond is clearly susceptible to playing a very high-scoring game against an opponent that runs and guns. It also must be noted that Richmond has given up an average of 71 ppg in its last five games as it is. Duquense has been averaging 25.6 ppg on their own higher than teams allow with frenzy ball. Richmond allows 68 per game so that means we can expect Duquense to score around 94 points tonight. Teams have scored 24 ppg more than their average against Duquense. So Richmond, a team that scores 60, would be expected to score around 84. That results in 178 for this game, almost exactly what we saw when Richmond played vs VMI, which ended at 177. We will ride frenzy ball to its 8th consecutive OVER! This total is still to low to hold frenzy ball. The line will rise throughout the day so get on it as soon as you can.
Game: Rice at Uab (8:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 2 units on Rice +7.5
This is a match-up of two teams heading in opposite directions. UAB was off to a 6-3 start, but has since gone just 6-9. They have played probably their worst basketball of the season recently, having dropped three straight at home. Rice is off of a nice win at SMU, and has won three straight games. But more importantly, they have now only failed to cover just once in their last 10 games. We will go with the hot-hand and take the dog here.
Game: Marquette at Depaul (8:30 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Depaul -2.5
Marquette saw an eight game winning streak crushed with an 18-point loss at Georgetown. They have had some difficulty on the road. DePaul was supposed to be much better than they have shown, but with the emergence of Drealon Burns, have begun to play much better, especially at home. They have played very solid defense all season but now have a scoring option beyond Chandler. We will take them here vs a Marquette team that just played a highly emotional game at Georgetown.
Game: Hawaii at Utah State (9:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Utah State -5
Last year Hawaii came into this arena and lost by 11 points. They are not alone losing here. Utah State is a perfect 13-0 at home this season, and now stand 80-5 in their last 85 games here, including two losses by a single point. Hawaii has done well at home, as they have gone 12-3, but when they get out on the mainland they have struggled mightily going just 1-8. There is just too much of a home-court advantage in this one, and we will ride with the home team.
Game: Duke at Boston College (9:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Boston College -2
It's hard to believe that Duke will enter this game unranked for the first time in over 200 weeks while BC enters as the ranked team and favorite. This Duke team is certainly playing on reputation only. They have dropped four straight for the first time in 11 years! Shots of team leader Josh McRoberts crying during the game at Maryland is all you have to see. This team is a shell of all the great Duke teams and remember last year a great Duke team needed a miracle to win by two at the Conte Forum. BC sits at the top of the ACC and can really score, and that is the type of team against whom Duke really struggles. Can Duke lose five in a row? Everyone thought they were immune to three straight, then the 4th came, tonight the 5th comes.
