Basketball College Pick - February 11, 2008
Suffered a 0-3 performance yesterday. We are still hitting 60% over the last six weeks for +58.6 units. Over that time we are 52-21 with our 4-unit and 5-unit picks. We come back today with three more plays including a 4-unit pick.
Today's NCAA Basketball Picks:
Game: Villonova at Georgetown (7:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Georgetown -13 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7)
The Wildcats were cruising along with an 11-2 mark. Then Casiem Drummond went down with an injury and they have not been the same team since. The Wildcats have dropped seven of their last 11, and have covered just once in their last 13 games. Their last five losses have all been by double-digits. Georgetown is coming off a disappointing loss on the road at Louisville. You can be sure they will be focused and hungry for this one, as their margin for error is gone, sitting with just a one-game lead in the Big East. The Hoyas are 12-0 at home and have won 10 of them by double-digits, and own 19 and 27-point wins coming back off their two losses. We’re afraid ‘Nova is in the wrong place at the wrong time, Hoyas roll.
Game: Wisconsin Green Bay at Cleveland State (7:00 PM Eastern)Pick: 3 units on Cleveland State -3.5 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7)
Cleveland State is off a 13-3 run and has been just 1-5 since. However four of the five losses were on the road and tonight they return home where they have been 9-3 on the season. Wisconsin - Green Bay hasn’t exactly been road warriors as they have amassed a total of three road wins, and one was over 5-18 Detroit and another was over 8-16 South Dakota State. The Vikings have come up big in the conference at home, and their poor road play has built value in this pointspread at home, where they simply are a much different team. The Phoenix road woes continue.
Game: Utah State at Nevada (10:00 PM Eastern)Pick: 4 units on Nevada -7 (-110) (risk 4 to win 3.6)
Here are the Aggies 15-2 in their last 17 games. Playing on the road to a team that is just 15-8 on the season that they beat by 14 at home and they’re a solid dog? There are reasons. Utah State has had a crazy schedule where 10 of their last 13 games have been played at home. They were 2-5 away from home prior and suffered a 30-point loss to New Mexico State during their winning streak when they had to step out on the road. After a 2-4 start Nevada has since been 13-4, and 10-1 in their last 11 at home, and their last three by double-digits. This is a huge game for Nevada if they want to stay in the conference hunt. We expect them to put a double-digit win together at home.
Results: 1-2
