We said it before Duquense's last game and we will say it again. The odds-makers just don't get it yet with this team. We expected this one to come out in the 180s, but instead we saw an opening number of 169. It has climbed already to 176 and we still get tremendous value here. Duquense is now playing ten players 20 minutes each, pressing full-court and taking 40+ 3-pointers a game. The coach wants them to shoot within 12 seconds of the shot clock and get up to 100 shots per game. Rhode Island is a scoring team as it is as they average 75.3 ppg. The introduction to "frenzy ball" has seen recent Duquense games score 188, 182, 188, 184, 203 and 216 points. The teams involved in those shootouts didn't average much piror to that game. Team one averaged 72.6 and scored 105. Team two averaged 68.1 and scored 92. Team three averaged 76 scored 91 Team four averaged 75.1 and scored 92. Team five averaged 67.2 and scored 89 and team six averaged 76.7 and scored 101. Those teams averaged 22 ppg more than they normally score! If we apply that 22 to URI we could expect to see 97 from them! Duquense has averaged 98.5 ppg! We wouldn't be surprised to see this one to be close to 200 and definitely exceed the 176.

Great situation here for St. Peters. They have no public support given the fact that they are 3-21 on the season and haven't won since early December, having lost 16 games in a row! But they have won two straight against the spread and are playing inspired defense. In their last five games they have allowed just 61 ppg.  Now they get 6 points at home. St. Peters has won four of the last six in this matchup outright including two straight at home. Take the points.

After a slow 7-7 start, S Alabama has quietly reeled off eleven straight wins. They are now 10-2 at home and 12-2 in conference games. Arkansas State is just 3-11 on the road. They are a slow-starting team and if they start slow again here, this game could be well out of hand by halftime. They don't have the offensive firepower to climb back either (they shoot just 28.6% from three on the road). Versus common opponents, Arkansas State is 8-6 while S. Alabama has won 10 of 13. S. Alabama has stepped up their already solid defense of late and over the last five games they are averaging 14 less points per game allowed than Arkansas State. S. Alabama big here.
