Basketball College Pick - February 08, 2009

We posted a winning day yesterday going 4-3. It was the 18th winning day out of the last 29. Over that span we are 51-35, good for +29 units. Today just one pick - a moneyline play.

Today's NCAA Basketball Picks:

Game: N C State at Virginia Tech (1:30 PM Eastern)
Pick: 4 units on Virginia Tech -370 (moneyline) (risk 4 to win 1.1)

NC State is 12-8 overall but that hides the fact that they are just 2-5 in ACC play. The Hokies haven't played in February yet and have been itching to get back on the court after a tough 1 point loss to Boston College. Despite losing their last two ACC games by a total of five points, Va Tech is still 4-3 in league play and clearly the class of this game. NC State has covered the spread in six of the last seven games between these two teams which makes me a little nervous about laying the 7.5 points. But I do really like the Hokies to get the win, especially considering that the Wolfpack are 3-10 straight up in road games the past two seasons. That includes a 1-8 mark if the total is in the 130s as it is here. Virginia Tech straight up here.
