Premium Picks

We rate each pick 1 to 5 units with 5 being the strongest play (read about units).
Risk 1% of your bankroll per unit (never risk more than 5% of total bankroll on any pick).

Game: Central Florida at East Carolina (7:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Central Florida -4.5

Central Florida won here last year and also at home. East Carolina has actually shot the ball worse at home than they do on the road at a paltry 39% and 30% beyond the arc. Central Florida is a good shooting team as well as a team that defends in the half-court. East Carolina has now lost 21 of their last 26 ATS as an underdog, and this may be the worst team they have had in years. They have actually shot just 33.9% in their last five home games. It's hard to stay in games like that.

Game: Duquense at Lasalle (7:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 2 units on Duquense +3.5
Pick: 3 units on Game Total OVER 170.5 -110

We're playing the OVER in a college game with a total of 170.5? Have we gone mad? Not exactly. Duquense was struggling along at 5-11 and suddenly decided it was time to have some fun and perhaps start winning. Both happened. They now play at a frenetic pace. In the last five games have been 4-1 and a perfect 5-0 ATS. The points are racking up very fast, and not a single game has been under 182 with an average of 189! So the odds-makers still don't get it. They won't get any action if they try to go higher in a college game, so we will hop in before they really catch on, and look for them to outscore LaSalle in the process.

Game: Old Dominion at Georgia State (7:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Old Dominion -11.5

Sometimes you worry when a team beats an opponent so bad like ODU did to Georgia State just a week ago 92-57. Will the next game be just a formality? ODU last year beat them by 15, then on the return game beat them by 18. They had a similar episode with James Madison winning by 17, and then winning by 18 on the return game. So we don't expect ODU to sleepwalk through this one. They show up every night and keep beating the bad teams by large margins. They are on a roll, as they have now won five straight. The last time these teams met, the game was over by halftime, and so was the game they played down here last year. Expect a focused ODU team to take care of business on the road.

Game: South Florida at St. John's (7:30 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on St. John's -3.5

This is a tough line to figure out. Since they have joined the Big East, S. Florida has played teams tough at home but have done absolutely nothing on the road. They are 0-12 in their Big East history away from home. It isn't just since being in the Big East. They came from Conference USA where they were 2-20 on the road as well. So their last 32 conference games have shown them losing 30! St. John's is playing much better of late and have played their best at home. We can't see S. Florida hanging around this number on the road.

Game: Pittsburgh at West Virginia (7:30 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on West Virginia +2.5

West Virginia finally began having success in the Big East three years ago. They have built a huge home-court advantage. As good as the Big East has been, West Virginia has won 17 of their last 18 in Morgantown with only UCONN breaking through last year. They are perfect in-conference again this year. Pitt has been a victim here twice, both by 5 points and once as a favorite. West Virginia has been tough on Pittsburgh, as they have won the last three of four, covering all four. Pitt is unblemished on the Big East road so far and it is very hard to run the table on the road in this conference. The Mountaineers are 11-2 ATS the pat two seasons vs. the cream of the crop (teams at 80%+ SU). We will take the points in this one.

Game: Florida at Georgia (7:30 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Georgia +6

Florida brings their number 1 ranking to Georgia tonight and will be strongly contested. These teams match-up quite well. Georgia had a lead going into the second half at Florida, before falling apart. They actually out-rebounded them by five on the road. Georgia shoots 50% at home and 40% from three, as does Florida on the road. They both defend at 40% home vs away, so these teams are a statistical dead heat! The difference? getting 6 points and playing at home in a game that would not shock us to see Georgia get the SU win. We will go with the points.
