Both of these teams have been red hot as Toledo got off to a horrible start at 4-8 but has rebounded by winning eight of their last nine. Kent started just 7-7 but has now run off seven of eight. There are three big keys to this contest. The first is Toledo's inability to rebound as they have been -8 over their last eight games. The second is Kent plays tough defense at home by limiting opponents to just 39% shooting and only 30% from beyond the arc. The last and perhaps most important factor is the Kent defense forces 20 turnovers a game at home. Toledo has had some problems holding onto the ball as they have had a game against UTEP where they turned the ball over 27 times and then again vs. Central Michigan Toledo turned it over 20 times. The Kent defense is the difference in this one.

Texas Tech has had a strange year but it is strange because of a lack of consistency. Tech lost on the road to Baylor then come home to open a lot of eyes by beating Kansas and Texas A&M back-to-back. Now Tech has turned around and lost three straight games. The problem is a team shooting slump and getting killed on the boards. Tech has shot just 37% over their last three games and has been out-rebounded by seven boards a game. Nebraska is coming out of a slump and won at Missouri in its last game. The one weakness Nebraska has didn't surface against Missouri as the Cornhuskers out-rebounded them but since Texas Tech is a horrible rebounding team it negates the weakness of this Nebraska squad. We look for this one to go down to the wire so we will take the points here.

Illinois State is won just four of their last 13 games and going on the road off of an eight point home loss to Bradley. The biggest problem Illinois State has had is on the defensive end. They are giving up 48% from the floor on the road as well as 40% from three-point land. That spells trouble vs. a sharp-shooting Missouri State team that hits a sizzling 52% at home and 43% from beyond the arc. Missouri State shot an unbelievable 66% at Illinois State earlier in the year and had a +8 advantage off the glass as well. This one has big blowout potential and we will lay the points.
