March Madness Bracket Predictions - February 03, 2010We picked-up the win last night as Northeastern handled business against Delaware. Last night's ATS winner lifted our CBB mark to 124-103 for +47 units over the last two months. We also take a look on dealing with line movements in a featured article in the Dog Pound below.
![]() Today's NCAA Basketball Picks: Georgia State has proven to be a tough out at home where they have averaged 69 points per game on the season. George Mason has really picked it up on the offensive end where they have scored 80 ppg over their last five games, pushing all of them OVER the total. They have not been slowed by poor teams as they are 11-4-1 to the OVER in their last 16 vs. a team with a winning percentage of .400 or worse. Georgai State and their ability to score at home, has seen their last four on their home court go OVER the total. They got just 49 at George Mason, and you can bet they will be bringing the offense to this one at home for redemption. I'll take the OVER here.Game: Arkansas at Georgia (7:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Arkansas +4 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7) The Georgia Bulldogs scored a big win at home when they took down Tennessee, but have done little before and after. The early season was mired with cupcakes, and they surrounded the Tennessee win with three losses before and two since. This is by no means a vintage Razorbacks team, but they are starting to come together with back-to-back wins against Ole Miss, and Mississippi State. They have relished the role of an underdog where they stand at 5-1 ATS, while the Bulldogs as a favorite of 6.5 or less, stand at just 2-5 ATS in their last seven. Georgia has had one good game and five bad ones, while Arkansas is coming on, so I'll go with Arkansas and the points here.Game: Iowa State at Baylor (7:30 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Baylor -11 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7) Game: Colorado State at Utah (8:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Colorado State +10 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7) Utah is a team that was making regular NCAA Tournament appearances and dominating their homecourt in the process. The name still is worth a few points, but at 7-5 at home, they are clearly not what they once were at home, and have already lost as a 10+ favorite at home this season. Overall they are just 5-7 in their last 12. The Rams don't have many positives in the win column on the road, but visits to New Mexico, UCLA, Oregon, BYU and Northern Colorado (who is 18-5) are a good part of the reason. The Utes' 3-9 ATS mark as a favorite in their last 12 tell a more convincing tale. I'll back Colorado State in this one.Game: St. Bonaventure at St. Louis (8:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on St. Bonaventure +5.5 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7) St. Bonaventure might be 9-10 on the season, but a closer look reveals a team that has been a lot more competitive than their record shows. The Bonnies have played some heartbreakers and of the 10 losses, six have come by 6 points or less, with a 7th loss by just 7. The bottom line is that this team stays in games, and the points here are big. The Billikens sport a 10-1 home mark on the season, but the competition is about as soft as it gets. They have played five home games that weren't even lined, and have been 10+ favorites in three others. The Bonnies are 16-5 ATS in their last 21 as a road dog, and are a live dog in this one. I'll back St. Bonaventure here.Game: Texas A & M at Missouri (9:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Missouri -9.5 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7) The Tigers have been tough at home and have yet to lose. The log shows 14-0 and only one team has managed to stay inside of 10 points, and that was a tough Kansas State team that lost here by 6. That runs the two-year string to 32-0 at home, with just five wins by less than 10 points. Last year they lost their season finale at A&M by 10, and I look for them to play with a chip on their shoulder and return the 10+ loss back on A&M. The Aggies are just 1-3 ATS on the road, and 1-7 ATS after a straight-up win. The Tigers 15-3 ATS mark vs. teams with a losing record says they get it done tonight, Missouri gets the call.Game: Kansas at Colorado (9:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 4 units on Game Total UNDER 151.5 -110 (risk 4 to win 3.6) The Kansas Jayhawks are 20-1 on the season, sport two potential All-Americans and with that comes a price in the total, as the perception creates inflated numbers. The last six times they have been posted in the 150s this season they have failed to reach the total, and in two of three at 146.5 and up to 149.5, they have also failed twice. The Buffaloes have held three straight opponents in the 60s and have been slowing things down, and they sure don't want to get into a track meet here. The Jayhawks have played to a 24-8 mark to the UNDER after their last 32 wins, while the Buffs are 22-10 to the UNDER after an ATS win. I'll play this one UNDER the total. Results: 5-2 ![]() NCAA Basketball Picks Resources:
