Premium Picks

We rate each pick 1 to 5 units with 5 being the strongest play (read about units).
Risk 1% of your bankroll per unit (never risk more than 5% of total bankroll on any pick).

Game: Richmond at Umass (12:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 2 units on Richmond +20.5

This isn't exactly a match-up that will create alot of interest around the NCAA today. It is also one that UMASS may not be too committed to as they can smell the easy win. Richmond getting this many points for a team that plays games in the 50 and 60-point range got our attention. UMass has not shown up for these "cupcake," type of games as they have dropped their last three as a double digit favorite while 5-16 Richmond limits possessions and has covered both as a double digit dog. Their biggest loss of the season has been by 23-points and UMass hasn't beaten anyone by this number since the calender turned December. We will take the bundle here and back Richmond.

Game: Kentucky at Arkansas (1:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 2 units on Arkansas -2

It has been a longtime since Arkansas has beaten Kentucky. Arkansas has competed hard but never had the talent to get over the top. This year is different. Think Arkansas can get up for the big games? They beat LSU by 20-points and Alabama by 27-points at home already this season. They certainly have the talent and ability to rise to the occasion. Last year Arkansas almost broke through losing a tough one at Kentucky by two points and the year before they lost at home by just a single point. Pay back time for the Razorbacks. The last time they beat Kentucky was back in the 2000-2001 season. It was also the last time they were favored! Revenge is sweet!

Game: Clemson at Georgia Tech (1:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 4 units on Georgia Tech -2.5

This is a good revenge spot for Georgia Tech. They had Clemson beaten on the road, had a nine point lead, only to lose at the buzzer. Georgia Tech has been menacing offensively at home scoring in the 80-points range, shooting a sizzling 52%. They are also connecting from beyond the arc at an impressive 41%. Defensively the Jackets have allowed only 40% at home and a 28% mark beyond the arc. Clemson will lose a lot of points in this one at the not-so-charitable free throw stripe for them. They are hitting a woeful 58.8% on the season and in their last five games just 47%. Georgia Tech also forces 19-turnovers a game at home and we look for the Jackets to put an 8-10 point win on the board today at home.

Game: Ohio St at Michigan St (4:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 5 units on Michigan St +2

These teams met at Columbus and Ohio State had a 20-point lead at the half and Michigan State came all the way back, missing a three-point shot at the end that would have won it. They played Ohio State pretty much even on the road but one thing they gained from the second half comeback, is they can play with this team and now get a shot at revenge at home. Michigan State out-rebounded the Buckeyes on the road, got many second chance opportunities but struggled from behind the arc, or would have come away with the win. The Spartans have been 49-4 SU on their home-court and 14-0 this year already. We look for the Spartans to come out fired up and sneak away with a big win in this one.

Game: Hawaii at Nevada (8:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 2 units on Nevada -11.5

If you haven't seen this 20-2 Nevada team, they are legit. They have one of the top players in the country in Nick Fazekas and one of their two losses was without him in the lineup. He did not play in the OT win at Hawaii. Hawaii has been great at home but really struggles on the road losing to 3-18 Idaho and 6-15 Louisiana Tech. They are just 1-6 in true road games. Nevada shoots 50% at home and lights it up beyond the arc at 42% while allowing a stingy 39% from the floor defensively. Hawaii has shot 37% or less in their last three road games and after an OT game at Hawaii last year, beat Hawaii by 18-points at home. Look for the Wolfpack to put a solid double digit pasting on Hawaii in this one.
