We rate each pick 1 to 5 units with 5 being the strongest play (read about units).

Game: Tennessee St. at Samford (8:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Samford -7
Samford has a tremendous advantage in this game. They are playing at home where they shoot the lights out at 51.2%. They have also connected on 41.5% of their three-point shots. Tennessee State shoots an abysmal 38% on the road and connects on just 63.7% of their free throw attempts. Samford is also a very disciplined team that takes care of the ball. They have not committed more than 12 turnovers in any game over their last 15. Tennessee State struggles offensively as they post just 11 assists per game on the road. Samford is looking at a comfortable double digit win tonight.
Game: Duke at Virginia (9:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Virginia +2
This Duke team is winning a lot of games, but don't be fooled - it is not a vintage Duke team. They have yet to play Carolina and the road games were against Miami, Florida and North Carolina State two of this years bottom dwellers. The one that wasn't on the road, was Georgia Tech and they lost by nine points. Over the years, Duke blew teams away at home. This year they have already dropped one to Virginia Tech, an escape vs. Clemson and three other games in single digits, surpassing all of last years total. Virginia has been an up-and-coming team. They have a brand new arena and own wins already over Arizona, Gonzaga and Maryland. Duke has struggled mightily vs. very quick guard tandems. Marquette's James/McNeal combo lit them up for 42-points. Virginia Tech's Gordon/Dowdell combo dropped in 37-points. Georgia Tech's Morrow/Crittenton combo netted 30-points. Clemson at Duke got 33-points from Hamilton and Rivers. Tonight it may be the best pair yet and this time it is on the road vs. Singletary and Reynolds who both average close to 20-points a game. Virginia has not only won big vs. the top level teams at home this year, they are playing their best basketball of the season riding a four game winning streak, including a win at Clemson. They have also covered six straight. Duke will be exposed tonight again by a quick guard tandem, so don't be surprised if the losses start mounting for Duke, as they have two with Carolina, two with Maryland and have to go to Clemson. This is a dog with some bite, the Cavs get the money here.
Game: San Jose St. at Idaho (10:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on San Jose St. -1.5
This is an epic battle of two teams that have five wins between them. The one thing we have noticed is San Jose State has been staying close to some pretty decent teams as they have lost to New Mexico State by just six and seven points, Fresno State by three points, Nevada and Long Beach State by nine points. Idaho has gotten blown out by Fresno, Nevada, and New Mexico State and of the seven common opponents, San Jose State has the edge on both sides of the ball. Idaho has dropped it's last two by huge margins and appears to be playing worse than even earlier in the season - if that is possible. There is no home-court advantage here and we will ride the better team in San Jose State to get a rare win.
