Free Basketball Betting Picks - May 26, 2010We split the picks last night for a slight loss. We are still 96-74 for 56% and +32.5 units over the two and a half months with our NBA picks. Tonight we have two more premium selections for you.
 Today's NBA Basketball Picks: The Magic learned something from their first three games in this series. If they allow Rondo the freedom to drive and roam, he is going to hurt you. They are clamping down, and as a result, his points and assists took a drop in game four. I look for them to defend hard against him early here, to take his will away. The Celtics have been all about defense allowing less than 87ppg in their last seven. The NBA Conference Finals remain a haven for first half totals to fall short of the mark. The mark stands at 190-118 in the last 308 failing to reach the first half total. Over the past three seasons, these two teams have met 22 times and 18 of those games resulted in a first-half UNDER. Over the past two seasons, Boston is 11-2 UNDER in the first half on the road revenging a home upset loss. The team signatures and long term trends all point the same way. I'll ride along on the first half UNDER.Game: Boston at Orlando (8:40 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Game Total UNDER 186 -110 (risk 3 to win 2.7) The Boston Celtics certainly had their chances in game four to close out this series, but they fell in overtime and will head to Orlando for game five. The Magic did a much better job defending Rajon Rondo, holding him down offensively and limiting him to eight assists. Despite Orlando's win, I am not sure they should be favored here. In three of the four games, including both here in Orlando, Boston has dominated. They could have easily won the last game and completed the sweep. This is a hard one to call on the side I think. There has been one constant for Boston and that is a defense that looks a lot like the 2008 Championship team. The last seven teams have scored no more than 92 points against them, discounting overtime, and have averaged just 86.7ppg. During the same time the Boston offense has not been able to eclipse the 95 point mark, so for this one to go over the total is going to take some things to happen that we haven't seen yet. The Celtics are now 10-2 to the UNDER in their last 12 vs a team with a winning record and the Magic hold the identical 10-2 mark in the same situation. A third identical 10-2 mark to the UNDER has been the result of the UNDER in the last 12 played against each other. Boston is also 11-2 UNDER this season revenging a loss as a home favorite.
