Nba Free Predictions - May 25, 2009We nailed both 5-unit plays last night to take our record on 5-unit plays this postseason to 10-4-1. Overall in the playoffs now we are +46.1 units and since mid-November we are +138.3 units ($13,830 for $100 players). Tonight we have a 4-unit pick.  Today's NBA Basketball Picks: This series has been a very close one with either team capable of owning a 3-0 lead. It's been a statistical dead hea with both teams shooting 44% from the field and 76% from the line. The benches have produced about the same and both of these teams are even in the turnover battle at 40 apiece. What the numbers have shown is both teams have been getting after it on the defensive end, holding each other to below season shooting averages in the series. And despite offensive reputations from both sides, the defense has prevailed in all three games. The Lakers have now played 11 of their last 13 playoff games to the UNDER, and overall, we have have now seen the totals in their game come up short of the number in 28 of their last 39 games. The last five games between these two teams played in Denver have not topped this total and have averaged just 191.4 points per game. The Lakers have now played eight straight to the UNDER in Conference Final games, while the Nuggets have turned in 24 of 32 UNDERs in their last 32 playoff games. These teams have played six straight UNDERs. In the playoffs the Lakers are averaging 4.3 points per game less than their season average and they are allowing 3.5 less per game.
