Basketball Pick Pro - May 24, 2010We nailed both of our NBA picks yesterday as Phoenix rose from the ashes of a season on the brink. We strike back today with three premium NBA picks including a 4-unit and a 5-unit selection. We're 95-70 in NBA over the last two and a half months, good for +45 units.
 Today's NBA Basketball Picks: This game has one signature written all over it - low-scoring. These teams have met 21 times over the past three seasons and 18 of those 21 games have gone UNDER in the first-half (nine of 10 UNDER in games here in Boston). On the road this season, the Magic are 30-16 UNDER in the first half. The Celtics have held playoffs opponents to just 44.6 in the first half while the Magic have held their playoffs opponents to 43.4. When coming off a road loss by double digits, the Magic are 17-5 UNDER the past three seasons. Take this game to go UNDER in the first-half, yet again.Game: Orlando at Boston (8:35 PM Eastern) Pick: 5 units on Boston -375 (moneyline) (risk 5 to win 1.3) Pick: 3 units on Game Total UNDER 187 -110 (risk 3 to win 2.7) The Celtics have shocked the Magic, and are on their way to getting the payback from last season's ouster at the hands of Orlando. I really like the Celtics to close this out tonight. The Magic have all but given up. Will they show up for pride tonight? You would have thought they would have done that in one of the last couple of of games, but they have not. There's a chance they will, which could make the spread in this game in question. But the chances that Orlando finds a way to win this game outright? I put the chances of that at minuscule, providing value on the moneyline here. Really I think the Celts should be laying -500 or more so getting them at this price makes sense. The Magic have no answer for the Celtics, either skill-wise or emotionally. Boston has played outstanding defense this entire playoffs so the chances that they stop that tonight is very low. Why would they? And if they don't, Orlando has no answers. This veteran Celtics team knows the value of closing out and getting rest for the Finals. I like them to seal the series tonight. I also like the UNDER. Boston has won thus far by bearing down on defense, as they have held opponents in nine of the 14 games played to the 80s or less. Those numbers appear to be getting stronger as the post-season progresses, as the last six have seen the opponent average just 85.2 points per game, and the last three at home just 81 ppg. The Magic, after an ATS loss, have played an amazing 40-12-1 to the UNDER, and 14-3 to the UNDER in their last 17 vs. a winning team. That number is matched by the Celtics, who are also 14-3 to the UNDER in their last 17 vs. a winning team.
