Game: New Jersey at Miami (8:05 PM Eastern) Pick: 2 stars on Miami -6.5
New Jersey seems to have run out of steam. This is certainly a must-win game for them but I don't think they have enough gas left in the tank to do anything about it. My feeling is that they are resigned to the fact that they are done. They just don't respond well to big losses as they are 6-14 ATS this season after a double-digit loss. Miami meanwhile wants nothing more than to close this thing out at home. They know they need the extra rest it would afford them when they face their likely next opponent - the Detroit Pistons. New Jersey doesn't seem to have an answer for Miami's offense. The Heat have scored in triple digits in the last three games. They have averaged over 50% from the field in those games. Miami is now 8-2 straight up and 7-3 ATS vs. the Nets here in Miami over the past three seasons. The Heat have found their stride and I look for them to close out the series right here with a big win.
Game: Los Angeles Clippers at Phoenix (10:35 PM Eastern) Pick: 4 stars on OVER 215.5
In the first four games in this series, Phoenix has scored 107 on average while the Clippers have averaged even more - 112.5! In three of the games, one team scored 114 or more. The only low-scoring game was game three in which the Clipps clamped down and found a way to slow Phoenix. Phoenix adjusted in game four and poured in 114 points in Los Angeles. Now the series returns to Phoenix where the average total points of the first two games was 236. Phoenix is doing what they did in the first series against the "other" Los Angeles team. They started fairly slow and lost a game at home. Then, late in the series they returned to their bread-and-butter (run and gun offense) and took control. With this series deadlocked at 2-2, you can bet Phoenix will resort to what got them here - shooting the lights out. The Clippers are likely again without their center Chris Kaman for this game. If he plays he won't be 100%. Without him clogging the middle, Phoenix is going to score a lot. And Phoenix has showed no signs of stopping LA's offense. Five of the last seven games played between these two teams here in Phoenix have gone OVER the total and I expect it will be six of eight after tonight.

| How
much to bet? I recommend 1% of your bankroll for every
star. A one-star pick = 1% of bankroll. A five-star pick
= 5% of bankroll. It is strongly recommended that
you never bet more than 5% of your bankroll on any given
game! Remember, there are no such thing as locks.
Never bet over your head and you'll live to see another
day. Approach your bets as an investment that grows steadily
over the long-term. For more, see
