Today's NBA Basketball Picks:
Game: Dallas at Atlanta (7:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 4 units on Atlanta -260 (moneyline) (risk 4 to win 1.5)
Atlanta goes for the perfect 7-0 on this home stand and I really like them to accomplish it. Dallas has a 16-19 record on the road this season while the Hawks are nearly unbeatable at Phillips Arena. Their defense here is much better than Dallas' and right now it's playing at a very high level (allowing 88. points per game during this home stand). On top of it, the Hawks are looking to revenge a close loss to Dallas back in December. Over the past two seasons, Atlanta is 20-8 at home in this situation. I'll take the Hawks to get the outright win.

Portland is 33-6 at home, but on the road it's a different story. Away from home they are just 15-19 straight-up and it's not any better against the spread (14-20). Cleveland has one home loss on they year and they are 22-9 ATS. They are winning games here by an average of 14.6 points per game! In games with low totals (in the 180s), the Cavs are 18-8 ATS this season. The Blazers are not an offensive team. They are scoring two points less on their opponents this year than the opponents normally surrender. Cleveland holds their opponents to 11 points under their normal averages. So, it's easy to see Cleveland holding the Blazers to under 90 points in this game and possibly close to 80. Eight of the last nine Cleveland home games have gone UNDER the total. I like the Cavs to cover and this game to go UNDER the total.
