Today's NBA Basketball Picks:

Game: New Jersey at Philadelphia (7:00 PM Eastern)

The New Jersey Nets have become more competitive late in the season, but are still having difficulty finding the win column. They have done a good job ATS latelyl when they get eight points or more and have been a great play on team.  However, when you only give this poor team seven or less the ATS numbers drop of a cliff as they are just 8-22 ATS. The Nets vs a team that has a below .400 winning percentage is just 5-16-1 ATS. The home team has covered four of the last five and I like Philadelphia here.

The Atlanta Hawks have played their last five road games against weak teams and, despite that, have found a way to lose two of them. The Raptors have become a very good home team as they come into this one at 22-10 at home. That mark is at 17-6 over their last 23. They will have redemption on their mind here as they take on an Atlanta team that is just a tick over .500 on the road and has pinned their biggest home loss on them at 22 points earlier. The Raptors are 7-1 straight-up in their last eight as a home favorite of 4.5 or less. Atlanta is without their leading scorer in Joe Johnson as well. I like the Raptors to get their revenge.

I like these two teams to win their games outright and I see value on a moneyline parlay that pays out at dog odds. Toronto faces a Hawks team that is without their leading scorer in Joe Johnson. This team isn't used to having to play short handed as they have had players miss the fewest games in the league (just 15) due to injury. At home Atlanta has been great, but even with Johnson, they have been a .500 team on the road. Meanwhile, Toronto is 22-10 at home. Orlando hosts San Antonio. The Magic secured a playoff sport on Tuesday night but they went out and lost to Charlotte, a team that didn't get their attention. The Spurs will have their attention and they will show up for this one to avoid back-to-back losses. The Spurs recent winning streak is very impressive considering they are without Tony Parker. But, against a team like Orlando, you need all of your weapons. The Spurs are a smidgen over .500 this season on the road and they are a .500 team this year vs. winning teams. Orlando is 27-2 straight-up the past two seasons when coming off a loss. Put these two teams in a moneyline parlay.

The Orlando Magic are bringing it down the stretch as they are 18-5 over their last 23 games. They are off a loss and, during this stretch, they are a perfect 4-0 SU & ATS, so expect a motivated outing vs the Spurs here. San Antonio has done well of late without Tony Parker, but playing Orlando against a motivated Magic team is no time to be without your star. The Spurs are just 14-17 ATS on the road this season. The Spurs are 1-8 ATS this season on the road when coming off a win. They have covered eight straight, but they have really struggled against the NBA's best where they are just 9-21 ATS in their last 30 vs a team with a winning percentage of over .600. I like the Magic to win big here. I also like the OVER. This total is set low. Orlando averages 104 points per game at home.  San Antonio plays very good defense, but they will have trouble keeping the Magic down here. Orlando has scored 109+ in five of their last eight games. San Antonio's defense has held nine straight opponents to double-digits, but that was against the likes of some pretty bad teams including New Orleans, New York, Minnesota and the Clippers. When they faced high-flying Phoenix a couple of weeks ago, they allowed 113. I like the Magic and the OVER here.
