Game: Houston at Atlanta (7:00 PM Eastern)

How can anyone resist at this point? Houston has won 19 times in a row, and covered 17 at the same time. This streak started on Jan 29th, but lost in all this is the fact that the Rockets haven't lost on the road since January 2nd, and have won eight of their last ten on the road by more than this pointspread. Atlanta is 19-12 at home, but 6-8 vs teams over .500. Sure the Hawks will be gunning for the Rockets, but hasn't everyone else? The Rockets have held opponents to 44.4 ppg this season (42.6 over their last five games). They are 11-2 UNDER in the first half the past two seasons on the road off a home double-digit win and 15-7 UNDER this season after any double-digit win. Atlanta is 14-3 UNDER this season to a first-half total in this rnage (95.5 to 100.5). Rockets and first-half UNDER here.

Sometimes the odds-makers are forced to stretch out a line on a given game. When they have a team like Boston, on a nine-game winning streak, playing one of the NBA's weakest teams, they have no choice. The problem is Seattle is not putting games in the win column, but they are improved, especially ATS. Starting 15-24 ATS, they have since gone 15-9. More importantly, to the huge spreads of 11.5+, they are 8-1. Boston has not fared well against the big pointspreads, having gone a dismal 0-5 ATS when they lay 13 or more. This is an overlay, so we will back the Sonics. What the Celtics do well against bad teams is keep the overall score down, especially early. They are giving up 41.6 in the first half over the past five games. They are 20-7 UNDER this season vs. poor defensive teams (those allowing triple digits). This season and last, they are 30-15 UNDER in the first half as a home favorite. They are 15-7 this season UNDER vs. non-conference foes as well. Seattle is 21-12 UNDER in the first half vs. winning teams this season. We like the Sonics to keep it close enough and for the first half to go UNDER.

Detroit holds foes at home to 43.9 first half points on average. They are off a very high scoring game for htem (225 points) and we like this one to swing the other way. The Pistons are 48-26 UNDER in the first half the past two seasons coming off an OVER game. They are 20-5 UNDER in the first half following two straight OVERs! They are 43-26 UNDER the past three seasons vs. good shooting teams. We like the first-half UNDER here.
Game: Utah at Milwaukee (8:00 PM Eastern)Pick: 3 units on Utah -8 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7)
Utah suffered another road loss last game. We were on them, saying they needed to prove they could win on the road. They didn't. But, we think that motivation is now intensified and we will back them tonight vs. the Bucks, a team they have beaten six straight times. The Utah offense remains on fire having averaged 115 per game over their last six. Utah is 30-16 ATS under Jerry Sloan in games with a total of 210+. We like the mismatch and motivation here and will back the Jazz.
Game: San Antonio at New Orleans (8:00 PM Eastern)Pick: 3 units on New Orleans -1 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7)
The Spurs have won nine of the last ten in this series but this is a different Hornets club. This game is there chance to show they deserve to be where they are, and that they can contend in the playoffs. San Antonio is battling with LA for the top spot in the league, but most of their wins have come at home. While 27-5 at home, they are just 17-14 on the road. The Spurs are 4-12 ATS this season in games with a line of +3 to -3 and just 4-13 ATS going on the road after a home game. We'll take the home team in this one.
