Free Basketball Picks - March 07, 2009

After a 9-2 start to March's NBA picks we were due a bad night. Even with that set back, our NBA picks are 194-142 for +110.2 units over the past four months.  Thanks to a 3-0 night in college hoops last night, we are 18-11 on our basketball picks in March.  Today we look to come back with two premium plays including a 4 unit selection.

Today's NBA Basketball Picks:

Game: Washington at Dallas (7:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Game Total OVER 197 -110 (risk 3 to win 2.7)

Dallas has not only been good at home at 23-8 on the season, they have been perfect at 15-0 vs the teams with a record of under .500 for the season. What they have been able to do is have their way on the offensive end of the court vs these teams. The last eight they have played at home they have not scored less than 109 points and are averaging an amazing 114.3 ppg! Washington has been very accommodating to the over when they allowed 100 or more points in their previous game as their ensuing game has toppled the total in eight of their last ten. Dallas pours it on offensively, and this one goes OVER the total.

The Detroit Pistons are struggling in all areas but one, they continue to play defense for 48 minutes. They seem to turn it up against the better teams on the road. The Pistons have now played ten of their last 12 on the road against .500+ teams to the under and that includes a game with these same Hawks that ended with just 163 scored. Atlanta is not an offensive team by any stretch and their defense his improved a lot, especially at home. Atlanta is now 11th in the league in points allowed and the Pistons offense resides right near the bottom of the league. This one is going to be low scoring and come in UNDER the total.
