Game: Minnesota at Boston (12:30 PM Eastern) Pick: 2 units on Minnesota +1 Pick: 2 units on Game Total OVER 191.5 -110
Boston has picked things up after posting a franchise-record 18 straight losses. They have since won four of eight games and they've posted three straight wins both SU and ATS. I know this sounds weird, but the Celtics are now over-valued! This is the perfect contrarian pick given that we have an opponent who has been losing (2-5 SU and 0-7 ATS in last seven games). Minnesota is still the better team here. Boston is 6-20 ATS at home this season including 3-12 ATS vs. losing teams. They are 2-13 ATS at home following a road upset win the past three seasons. We'll back the better team as a dog here. Minnesota is 15-5 OVER this season in non-conference games and 17-6 OVER vs. losing teams. The Wolves have struggled to score lately but shouldn't have a problem with that today. We'll go OVER here as well.
Game: Golden State at Washington (1:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 2 units on Washington -8.5 Pick: 2 units on Game Total OVER 217.5 -110
Golden State has fallen down again. They opened the season by breaking through on the road, winning eight of their first fiften games. Then the bottom fell out and they have since been 11-44 on the road. The path has been even uglier than that when playing teams with a winning record. Stops this year have included losses to Chicago by 30, Cleveland by 27, Phoenix by 23, Houston by 28, San Antonio by 40, and Utah by 24. They have been the least competitive team on the road vs. good teams in the NBA. Their six road wins is second worst in the league to Memphis who has four. They have 14 double digit road losses, and six others by 8+. They are not covering these either as they are 3-13-1 ATS last 17 as a road dog. Both matchups between these teams this year have gone OVER, averaging 233.5 points per game. The Warriors are allowing 113 points per game on the road. Washington is putting up 107 per game at home while allowing 104. This should be a very high scoring blowout.
Game: Utah at New Orleans (7:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 2 units on New Orleans +1.5
Utah has been on a nice run of late but they are laying points on the road vs. a team that is 19-11 SU and ATS at home this year. The Jazz really don't play good defense on the road and are lucky to have 17 road wins. While these are teams going in opposite directions right now, that should work in our favor here. The Jazz are just 10-25 ATS the past three seasons after having covered three of four games. Meanwhile, New Orleans is 27-14 ATS over that same time period after having failed to cover three of four. Live home dog here.
