Nba Betting Predictions - March 03, 2010

We missed the mark on our lone NBA pick yesterday for a slight loss.  Tonight we look to bounce back with three premium picks including a 4 unit selection.

Today's NBA Basketball Picks:

Game: Cleveland at New Jersey (7:30 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on New Jersey +9.5 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7)

The Cavs aren't punishing teams the way they did a year ago as they realized it cost them valuable energy come playoff time, so they have carried the lunch pail, grabbed the win and moved on instead of crushing everyone. The Nets, meanwhile, have found a little something and beat the Celtics on the road, but overall finding a little team chemistry. The Nets are now 8-3 ATS taking nine points or more and the Cavs have been no-shows vs home teams with a winning percentage of less than .400 where they are just 2-7 ATS. The Cavs haven't beaten this team by more than ten in three tries this year and are just 8-22 ATS in their last 30 vs the Nets. I'll go with New Jersey here.

The Washington Wizards are now without all of their big three. Arenas is suspended, they dealt Hayward, and Jamison. So what happens? The team gets more points and suddenly everyone steps up, so they start winning. They have covered seven of their last nine while playing over .500. The Bucks are playing extremely well also at 12-4 in their last 16, covering seven in a row and 18 of 21. What was once a team getting ten plus will now be giving ten and, as far as they come, they are now way over-valued. Their two ATS losses in their last ten both came as solid chalks. This has been a road dominated series at 17-8 ATS for the road team, and the Wizards get the money in this one.

The Rockets, once 20-13, are in danger of falling back to .500 with a loss tonight. They are playing poorly and have been just 10-16 over their last 26 games. That includes just 1-3 ATS as a seven point favorite or higher, one an outright loss and another went to OT. The Kings have broken out of a bad slump with two wins in their last three, covering in all of them They are not winning a lot of games, but have been very competitive having gone 10-5 ATS when getting seven or more and have also covered their last four after scoring 100+ in their previous game. The Rockets are not trustworthy in the role of a home chalk at just 2-10 ATS in their last 12. The Kings also love coming to Houston, where they are a perfect 7-0 ATS in their last seven trips. I'll go with Sacramento here.
