Today's NBA Basketball Picks:

Game: Chicago at Charlotte (7:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 2 units on Chicago +2 (-110) (risk 2 to win 1.8)

The Bulls came back from 17 down with under six minutes to beat the Houston Rockets last game. That kind of performance provides confidence and inspires a team. Charlotte is back home after a long road trip and that isn't usually a good thing as teams can often fall flat in that situation late in the season. They won three straight but against Scramento, Golden State and the Clippers. Not really awe-inspiring. I like the Bulls to ride their momentum from last game here.

Chauncey returns to Detroit but I don't think the hosts are going to take it lightly on him. Denver is without Carmelo tonight who was suspended after the game vs. Indiana. Allen Iverson is also out but Detroit seems to be playing good without him as they have won two straight since he has been out. No surprise there as Iverson could care less about defense. This is why he hasn't been a good fit in a city known for great defensive basketball. And lo and behold, since his exit, the Pistons have played superb defense, holding two of the top teams in the leage (Orlando and Boston) to 180 total points. I like the Pistons to get it done here tonight in a game they really want to win.

We were on Houston the other night in Chicago. They had the game in hand but blew a 17-point lead late and lost. That game was on the road where this team has had trouble closing. At home, it's another story. They are 24-6 here and they do it with stifling defense. The absence of McGrady hasn't slowed them at all. The Raptors are bad on the road, posting an 11-22 SU and 13-19 ATS record. They have very little defense so I expect this one to get out of hand early. The Raptors are just 10-21 ATS this season vs. winning teams. Houston is much better and rolling. They win big here.
