Wunderdog Sports Picks Newsletter
NBA Basketball Premium Edition
June 20, 2006

darrell,

Arggh! We had the UNDER wrapped up only to see it slip through our fingers last game. At the end of regulation, Dallas was on track for an NBA Finals record for a perfect free-throw game when Dirk Nowitzki, one of the absolute best FT shooters in the league - a 94% free throw shooter - goes to the line for two shots. He inexplicably misses one, making the score even and allowing overtime. If he hits that second free throw, regardless of who won the game, we would have gotten the UNDER. Instead, he notches an extremely rare miss and overtime kills us.

Complimentary Picks

Game: Miami at Dallas (9:10 PM Eastern)
Pick: 2 stars on UNDER 188

Yeah, I'm back on the UNDER. We deserved it last game and again I see value on it here. Especially given the location. The first two games played here went way UNDER. Game one resulted in 170 points and game two tallied 184. Miami, unfortunately for their fans, has to go back on the road after a great homestand. Away from home when facing great teams, Miami is not very good. Their offense averaged around 6 points less per game this season on the road. They are 13-9 UNDER in the playoffs this season and were 28-23 UNDER this season on the road. Dallas was 28-22 UNDER at home this year. Miami is 10-2 UNDER this year on the road vs. good shooting teams (46%+ FG) and 13-5 UNDER as an underdog of 3.5 to 9.5 points. Dallas is 9-1 UNDER following a close loss this season and 12-4 UNDER at home off any type of loss. I see Miami returning to game 1/2 form here and struggling to reach 90 points. Play UNDER 188

How much to bet? I recommend 1% of your bankroll for every star. A one-star pick = 1% of bankroll. A five-star pick = 5% of bankroll. It is strongly recommended that you never bet more than 5% of your bankroll on any given game! Remember, there are no such thing as locks. Never bet over your head and you'll live to see another day. Approach your bets as an investment that grows steadily over the long-term. For more, see my write-up on Bankroll Management.
