The Boston Celtics are showing their age, and if not for Ray Allen being magical from beyond the arc (over 57% on the season) the offense is listless. They are missing the offensive “QB” in Rajon Rondo and his 15 points per game and 9.5 assists per game doesn't help either. The Celtics haven't been north of 100 points in 17 straight games, but the defense remains big, with just one of their last seven opponents topping the 88-point mark. The Cavaliers have been a decidedly UNDER team as a home dog of +4.5 or less, where they are 24-8 to the UNDER in their last 32, as well as 19-7 to the UNDER on one day of rest. Rest is important to Boston as they age, and it helps the defense play at its best as they are 23-7 to the UNDER with a day of rest. Play the UNDER.

The Toronto Raptors scored 104 points in their first game of the season, but have yet to get to 100 since without the benefit of overtime. This is a team that realizes it is short on talent to be competitive, so they have chosen the slowdown defensive route, and it has done its part on the scoreboard with 65% of all their games failing to make it OVER the total. The Hawks went over the 100-points mark in nine of their first 12 games, but just one of their last nine without overtime contributing, so they have settled into the half-court game that seems to suit them best, and it has boosted the win column as well at 8-3 over their last 11. Toronto owns just 2 wins on the season at home and each of their losses has come by at least 5 points. Atlanta hasn't overlooked poor teams to get a road win and are 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven vs. a team with a home winning percentage of less than .400. The Raptors on the other hand are just 17-38-1 ATS when playing at home vs. a team with a winning road record. Play this one on Atlanta and the UNDER.

The New Jersey Nets have been playing at a much higher level of late and no doubt this team is starting to grow up. This team had no chance on the road over the last two years where they went 9-73. They have already matched last season's road win total of five in just 13 games. They won recently at Philadelphia - something this team was incapable of over the last two seasons. The Pacers are an improved team and the line reflects that, but not the improved play of the Nets and is simply too high. The Nets are in a different mindset now, and losing doesn't beget losing as they are now 7-1 ATS in their last eight after a loss. Play New Jersey and the points.

The Los Angeles Lakers appear to be a team that is on the decline after years of success. While they are still good, they aren't the same dominant team, as they are playing rather poorly at just 3-5 over their last eight games. Charlotte at just 3-18 on the season certainly won't get the Lakers’ juices flowing here, especially looking ahead to a big game with Denver their next time on the floor. The Bobcats’ 3-18 mark says not competitive, but that is an illusion as they are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games when taking +11 or more. The Lakers have been known to leave the "A" game in the locker room vs. bad teams as they are 16-42 ATS when trying to cover -11 or more. Take the points and play on Charlotte.
