Free Nbapicks - February 24, 2009

We finished 2-1 last night as we nailed both of our moneyline plays. Today we are back on the NBA hardwood with four premium plays. Over the last three months, our NBA picks are hitting 58%, 176-130 (+99.3 units).

Today's NBA Basketball Picks:

Game: Dallas at San Antonio (8:20 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on San Antonio -4.5 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7)

The Spurs had a lot of injury issues early in the season, and the shouts that this team was on the decline were not accurate. They began their home schedule at 5-5 but have since gotten back to their old winning ways posting a 15-2 mark now that they are healthy. One of the losses was to one of the NBA elite teams in 2008-09, the Orlando Magic. The Spurs are also 6-0 ATS in their last six against a team with a winning record. The Mavs have been an up-and-down team all season. Just when you start to believe in them, they falter. That is evidenced by their recent 4-9 ATS run, in a game after they got the ATS win. The Spurs are playing too tough at home now, so I will back them here.

The Rockets have been superb at home as they have played to a 22-6 mark on the season, while the up-start Blazers have yet to find success on the road, bringing just a 12-15 mark into this one. The Blazers are now just 1-6 SU and ATS when they have had to face a winning team on the road since December 1. The only team they managed to beat was a New Orleans team without Chris Paul, so they simply haven't been getting it done. The Rockets are posting a 6-2 mark in their last eight against teams with a losing road record, and 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven at home overall. The Blazers are good, but have shown that they are not ready to take on the good teams on the road. The Rockets get the call here.
