Nba Game Predictions - April 27, 2010

Today's NBA Basketball Picks:

Game: Miami at Boston (7:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Boston -6.5 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7)

The Celtics have a commanding 3-1 lead, and it is very important for them to close the door here tonight. The Celtics have some aging star players, and getting this done in five games would buy more time off the court. The Celtics have owned Miami over the last three years, especially in Boston where they have won every game. The Heat closed the regular season at 12-1, and most thought this series would be tight, but it has been anything but as the Celtics have really clamped down. The problem for Miami is that Wade can't do it all, and Boston has more star players to go to, and it has shown by Miami's scoring droughts on the road. Boston closes out the series tonight.

This looks like a lot of wood to lay, but history shows it is the right side. Teams in the first round of the NBA playoffs as a 10+ point favorite, have an overwhelming track record of getting it done and covering the big number. The Cavaliers are no exception to this situation as they are 6-2-1 ATS as a 10+ favorite with LeBron. The Bulls are just 3-7 ATS in their last 10 posted as an 11+ point dog. The Cavs have covered five straight in the playoffs at 11 or more, and are also 25-12-1 ATS after a double-digit win. I'll go with Cleveland here.

Oklahoma City has done a good job scoring in this series to even things at two games apiece. They have scored more points progressively from game one through game four. The Lakers average over 100 points per game, and coming home I expect them to find answers that have been missing through the first four games. Oklahoma City has a long track record of OVERs as a road dog of 5-10.5 points where they have turned in a 27-10 mark to the OVER, as well as a 20-7 mark to the OVER off a straight-up win. The Lakers usually find the offense after failing to reach 100 points at home for two straight games. They have come back to score 111.6 points per game this year in the five times it occurred. I like this one to go OVER the total.
