Free Nba Picks - April 15, 2009I'm adding three totals plays for tonight... We're off a 4-1 night on Monday as we wrap up a great regular season. Over the past five months we are up 87.9 units ($8,790 for $100 players). The games these final days are very difficult as teams sit starters. Tonight I have three picks.
 Today's NBA Basketball Picks: Atlanta starters took most of the game off last game and tonight will be more of the same. With the fourth seed clinched, there's not a whole lot to play for. Last night's Hawk's game resulted in 160 total points. I look for this one too, to go UNDER. The Hawks this season are 8-1 UNDER as a road dog of 6.5 to 9 points and Memphis is 28-14 UNDER this season revenging a double-digit loss. The Grizz are also 29-17 UNDER after a game in which they scored 105+ points. I like the UNDER here.Game: Houston at Dallas (8:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Game Total UNDER 190 -110 (risk 3 to win 2.7) The Rockets clinch their first division title in 15 years with a win here. If they lose, they could see a possible second seed slip to a fifth seed. Needless to say, Houston will be exerting max energy in this one, and their calling card is defense. In division games this year they are allowing just 87 ppg! The past three seasons, Houston is 31-16 UNDER vs. division opponents. In their last five games, they've allowed just 88.8 on average. Dallas scores well under their average in division games and play better defense. In fact, Dallas division games average 194.1 ppg as compared to over 202 per game in non-division games. I'll back the UNDER here.Game: Washington at Boston (8:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Game Total UNDER 191 -110 (risk 3 to win 2.7) This is the last game for Ed Tapscott as the Wizards' coach. He's hoping to reach an embarrassing milestone - 20 wins for his club. The Wizards are bad and Boston is locked into the second seed in the playoffs. These teams just want to get this over with and get out of the building. Washington is 22-18 UNDER on the road this season. Even with backups playing for Boston, this team still thinks defense first and I expect a low-scoring affair. Washington is 23-14 UNDER this season vs. winning teams. That includes a 16-6 UNDER mark vs. the best (those teams outscoring opponents by 3+ ppg). The Wizards are also 11-2 UNDER this season when the total is in the 190s.Game: Milwaukee at Indiana (8:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 2 units on Milwaukee +8 (-110) (risk 2 to win 1.8) The season finale for both these teams couldn't come soon enough. The Pacers have had some glorifying momemts, beating the Lakers, Cavs, Magic and Celtics. But that is one of the issues with this team. Even with those wins, they are 35-46 overall. They seem to play to the level of the competition and that's a dangerous type of team to lay 8 points with in a meaningless game. Both these teams are banged up with numerous injuries. The Pacers made their last stand in their last game vs. Cleveland where they fell behind and came back, but couldn't pull it off. I look for the Pacers to be flat after playing their big game vs. Cleveland. I'll take the generous points on the Bucks here. Results: 3-1 NBA Basketball Picks Resources:
