We hit our lone play yesterday bringing us to 38-31 for+9.6 units over the past month.  We look to build on that tonight with three premium NBA picks.

Today's NBA Basketball Picks:

Game: Detroit at Minnesota (8:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Detroit +3.5 (-105) (risk 3 to win 2.9)

The Minnesota Timberwolves are closing the season in a bad way as they have become the early season New Jersey Nets. The T-Wolves are a pathetic 1-22 in their last 23 games, so posted as a favorite here doesn't make a lot of sense.  This certainly offers value on the other side where they Pistons have taken the money in their last five posted as an underdog. Minnesota has quit playing, which is evident by their 112.4ppg allowed over the last 22. The T-Wolves in their last 14 as a favorite are just 4-10 ATS and amazingly have lost 10 of the 14 straight up! I'll go with Detroit here.

The Houston Rockets have had a losing record over their last 15 games. During this stretch they have been able to win just two games by eight or more points, so they are in a dangerous spot laying a sizable number here vs the Hornets. The Hornets won their last game by 28 points, so if nothing else they are showing they haven't quit despite a lackluster season plagued by a key injury. The Rockets have not enjoyed the role as a favorite as they are just 7-15 ATS in their last 22.  With nothing to play for here, I expect them to once again fall short as a favorite and I'll back New Orleans in this one.

This is a great match up between a pair of 53-28 teams with the winner moving up a seed for the playoffs.  It is, however, not an enviable spot for Phoenix, who has struggled to win on the road. The Jazz have been on fire, producing a 34-11 mark in their last 45 games. They haven't just been winning at home, they have been destroying teams. The Jazz in their last nine home wins have won six of the nine by 20 points or more. The Jazz are also 35-14-3 ATS after scoring 100+ in their previous game and 23-8-2 ATS in their last 33 at home. The Suns are just 3-7 ATS in the last ten meetings with the Jazz and I'm going with Utah here.
