We rate each pick 1 to 5 units with 5 being the strongest play (read about units).
Risk 1% of your bankroll per unit (never risk more than 5% of total bankroll on any pick).
Game: Atlanta at New Jersey (7:30 PM Eastern) Pick: 2 units on Atlanta +9.5
We are aware of the injury issues for Atlanta, but they will get Josh Smith back tonight along with his 16-ppg and 8.5 boards. This team has a lot of scorers, so the scoring slack will be picked up. New Jersey has not been favored by this much all season, nor should they be here. They have won just eight games all season by more than 10 points at home, and have lost five by double digits at home. Atlanta has been a 8.5-10 point dog at Miami, Phoenix, Chicago, Houston and Detroit, the Nets do not belong in that group. The value is on the Hawks tonight.
Game: Philadelphia at New York (7:30 PM Eastern) Pick: 2 units on Game Total OVER 184.5 -110
When you put two teams head-to-head and each team thinks they can beat the other, often times you see a game that takes on a higher pace. That certainly has been the case for these teams recently. These teams have averaged 202.5-points per game (PPG) over their last 10 meetings. These games have shown even more scoring when played in NY. They have combined for an average of 214 points. We expect this one to be at least 190, so we will play the OVER here.
Game: Sacramento at Denver (10:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 2 units on Sacramento +8.5
Denver went all out to beat the Lakers in their last game. They ended up playing all five starters for 192 minutes. This has proven costly in their next outing as they have been 5-12-1 ATS in a game after the starters go 160+ minutes, and they were way over that here. Sacramento has not played well in the win column, but they have been 7-2 ATS in last nine as a 5-10.5 dog, as well as 6-2-1 against teams with a winning record, so we will back the Kings to keep this one close.
