Free Basketball Betting Picks - April 02, 2008

We lost all three last night although hopefully some of you won one or two games as the two of our picks covered the closing numbers. Tonight we have two picks...

Today's NBA Basketball Picks:

Game: Indiana at Boston (7:30 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on First Half UNDER 106 -110 (risk 3 to win 2.7)

In the days off Bird, McHale and Parrish, 60-win seasons were the norm for the Celtics. They have a chance to reach that plateau tonight for the first time since the 1986 season. The get a Pacers team that doesn't play much defense, pushing this first-half line up to 106 - a real oddity for the Celtics whose defense is as good as it gets. Boston holds opponents to 43.4 first-half points so this puts a lot of onus on the Celts offense to reach this total. Boston is 43-31 UNDER in the first half overall this year including 12-4 UNDER when playing back-to-back games. They are also 20-11 UNDER vs. teams that put up 18+ three-pointers per game and 23-10 UNDER vs. teams allowing 100+ ppg.

Game: Golden State at Dallas (9:30 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Golden State +3.5 (-110) (risk 3 to win 2.7)

Golden State got in the heads of the Mavericks last year, and it extended to the playoffs. Right now the Mavs are trying to play without their best player, and dealing with a late season struggle, trying to beat good teams. The Mavs have not beaten a team with a winning record since before Valentine's Day, a streak which has gone to 0-11 SU. They have a slight one game lead over the Warriors in the playoff race and Golden State has the Mavs number. Dallas just struggles with high-scoring teams like the Warriors (the Mavs are 12-22 ATS this season vs. teams attempting 18+ three pointers per game). The Warriors also play well on back-to-backs, going 9-4 ATS. Warriors get this one, or at least keep it close.

Results: 1-1

NBA-Basketball-Picks-March-28-2008
The public loves the high-scoring team, and the odds-makers react in kind. The Phoenix Suns are among the highest scoring teams in the NBA, and with that comes a lot of action backing them. The Sixers...
