Took a hard look at the total in this game. The Bulls are averaging 97.1 points per game. We took a look at how they have performed at home against teams that allow under 100 ppg, and their production is greatly reduced to 92.1 ppg or about five less a game. Boston's defense gives up a bit over 90 a game. We looked at Boston's profile of road games and they allow just 89.2 ppg against these teams. Those are teams that average 96 points per game, so they show a scoring deficit of about 7 ppg as well. Boston scores 100.5 ppg is scoring just 98 ppg in these games - again a bit of a deficit. This leaves us with a strong inclination that this total is set about 6-7 points too high so we will ride the UNDER here.

We were on Phoenix last night and after a poor start Denver squandered a big lead in the second half, which they have done often on the road, and got blown out. The difference is that they finish these games at home. The Nuggets have taken down 10 of the last 12 teams over .500 at home - all by 6 points or more and eight of those teams by double-digits. Think they will be breathing fire tonight after blowing a 20-point lead on the road? Phoenix has had trouble on the road against the top teams where they are 1-8 SU in their last nine and have lost three of the last four by 13 or more points including a game in Denver. Revenge is sweet, the Nuggets get it.
Game: Houston at Sacramento (10:00 PM Eastern)Pick: 3 units on Game Total OVER 202 -110 (risk 3 to win 2.7)
Sacramento has seen 14 of their last 17 games feature both teams scoring 100 points or more, and where they dictate tempo, at home, nine of the last 10. This also includes a game played in Houston. Houston went 22 games in a row during their winning streak, not allowing any team to score over 100 points. They have now allowed four of their last five opponents to reach the century mark. The absence of Yao in the middle has allowed teams to penetrate and score or dish, something that wasn't available before. The result is more points, and it has showed in Houston's recent games. Sacramento, as mentioned above, is playing in the 200s virtually every time out and seven of the last eight times these teams have met in Sacramento the total has gone to the OVER.
