We rate each pick 1 to 5 units with 5 being the strongest play (read about units).
Risk 1% of your bankroll per unit (never risk more than 5% of total bankroll on any pick).
Game: Dallas at Phoenix (3:30 PM Eastern) Pick: 2 units on Game Total UNDER 214.5 -110
This could be a Western Conference Finals preview, which usually means playoff-like intensity. Dallas has been 91-49 to the UNDER when playing a good team, one that out-scores their opponent by 3+points per game (PPG), after five straight OVERS. Phoenix has been 17-7 to the UNDER after a game where they made 12+ three-point field goals. Look for the defensive intensity to prevail in this one.
Game: Charlotte at Toronto (6:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 2 units on Toronto -7
Toronto has been under the radar all season. They have won 25 of their last 37 games - good for a .676 win percentage. To put this line in perspective, Charlotte has been a double-digit dog at Houston, Utah, Chicago, and Cleveland, yet Toronto has out-played all of those teams over the last two-and-a-half months. Toronto has also done a great job of not taking these low-level NBA teams for granted. They have gone 16-1 SU at home against sub .500 teams, and 14-6 ATS over their last 20 games. Charlotte has been beaten up by .500+ teams on the road as they have dropped their last five by an average of 19-ppg while getting no closer than nine points. Toronto is the play here.
Game: Utah at Houston (6:00 PM Eastern) Pick: 2 units on Game Total UNDER 189.5 -110
Houston has allowed just 89-ppg at home this season, and this series, when played in Utah is long in games without a lot of points scored. You have to go back to the 2002 season to find a game that didn't go to OT that featured 200+ points. The last eight times these teams have met in Houston, in games that did not go to OT they have scored 186,190,156,191,179,147,187 and 187 points. That is just under 178-ppg. Houston has been playing even better defense lately, as they have allowed only 82.7-ppg in their last three home games. UNDER is the play here.
